If they didn't want anyone stealing their tattoos, they shouldn't have put them on the internet.

Okay, right, but they put it on the internet for folks to look at not to take (in most cases) However, most good art is replicated in some form or fashion. A good site to go to is www.InkedNation.com I belong to them and love them. I am a tattoo artist and piercer. Altho, my work is up for all to see on the site, I would hope that noone would take my work and call it their own. If someone copies what they see, that is fine by me but just don't say you did it. You dig. I think if you give the artist due credit, you'll be fine in the way of finding likable artwork for yourself. I hope you find what you're looking for!!!!!!!

Like I said, but in stronger words, if you're so petty that you'll get upset if someone copies your tattoo, you should probably take steps to prevent that from happening, like not letting everyone see them.

just as good as your argument that:

If they didn't want anyone stealing their tattoos, they shouldn't have put them on the internet.

i mean, come on, how lazy is that? you could apply that smug "argument" to any discussion. you, sir, are quite the debator.

there's nothing petty about being upset for having a piece of art (that you've created, that holds a personal significance, that has been permanently worked into your body) misappropriated. sure, posting pictures of your work up on the internet is inviting plagiarism, but that doesn't mean that's what they deserve.

Do you just get off on saying ignorant things that you know will piss people off? You constantly seem to be trolling, it's astounding.

Technically, tattoos are copyrighted from the moment they are inked into flesh, but you can also get a piece of paper legally confirming your ownership of the artwork. Stealing tattoos violates copyright law (and makes you a derivative asshole). Just google "amina munster tattoo" and you'll see a wealth of information on the subject. So yeah, you ARE talking out of your ass.
