I get it for free at work. It took 30 second of my time, and I don't get any of the nasty after-sickness associated with such shots, so whatever. Maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't. I've had the flu a few times throughout my life and it's usually during the off-season...like in fucking June (happy 22nd birthday to me!!) But still, if it can be prevented, I would like to prevent it.

Yeah, you don't need research to explain this. The flu vaccine contains only so many strains of the flu. So inevitably, some of the folks who get the shot will still get sick from a strain of the flu for which they have not been inoculated.
