Why?...and why wouldn't Ted Danson, John Ratzenberger (Cheers), Jamie Farr, Harry Morgan, Gary Burghoff...hell the entire cast of MASH... be on here...and some of the people who are on...?

Dude. You obviously need to watch more TV if you don't know most of these people. Household names, holmes.
And may I just take this opportunity to say, shame on you for not knowing more about Dick Van Dyke! He was a total fucking dreamboat back in the olden days.
That said: heartily agreed about the lack of Peter Falk.

Just to add to this- wherever you are-I'd be willing to bet that if you have a TV, You can tune into MASH and watch a show within 24 hours of this post...that was good TV....tired of CSI where next...Des Moines?

Cooler King you do realize that TV was around long before you were born?
Hell, it even was around before I was born!
And though your devotion to BVS is to be commended your lack of knowledge for the Golden Age of TV is disturbing for someone attempting to write an article on the icons of TV.
Diahann Carroll was the first African American woman to star in her own TV show and Lucille Ball might not be funny to you, you young whipper snapper, but back in the day it was quite outrageous to see a woman act funny on TV.
Larry Hagman was also in another Iconic TV show, I Dream of Jeannie, are you familiar with it? Seems they wouldn't let Jeannie show her belly button. Imagine that?
It wasn't around that long before I was born, and I have no clue who some of these people are...and think that they picked some people who have no business here and missed some who should be...someone mentioned Ron Howard..and have you seen his daughter? Damn...
Like all lists, this one missed a lot for me...but certainly not because I am young!!!!
