This sort of insanity would be enough to convince me the death penalty is wrong.

Do not be put off the death penalty because of pesky details like innocence.

the worst part about it is...the guys are guilty.

Apparently small town justice to you is JUSTICE. Get out from under your rock, the smaller the court the bigger the violations of civil rights they produce.
I've seen it, delt with it, and fought it my entire life. So you and the inbred courts you choose to defend can fuck off

that's a little aggro for a trite comment based on ignorance, dude. Isn't just better to ask him to back up his assertion with anything resembling factual information?

Sorry, but we are talking about a persons life possible being taken because of small town bigotry.
I feel getting a little aggressive is appropriate

Wrongful convictions and bigotry are hardly the sole providence of small towns, it happens everywhere. What happened to those boys was not justice, so yeah, it should be opposed by those who argue that the conviction was right. But this guy wasn't arguing anything, he's just shooting his "mouth" off.

There might be a strong case that these boys are innocent and let's hope so, but the fact is that the outrage of the case isn't a question of guilty or innocent, but that those boys did not receive a fair trial with factual evidence pertaining to the crime and instead was based on circumstantial and often just irrelevant evidence, and testimony coerced by police from the one suspect who was borderline retarded.

Looks like they have to sign a deal that says, while they are exonerated, the prosecution had enough evidence to convict.

Yeah, well, if the state of Arkansas doesn't need evidence to convict, why should they be liable for falsely imprisoning three men for half their lives? mad
