season 1 and 2 were soooooooo good, but ever since 2.5 (with a few exceptions early in season 3) it's been disappointing me. i'm kind of glad there's only one season left, maybe they'll cut out the filler episodes in 4. i am excited to see what happens, though.

You took the opinion right out of my brain.

I'm old enough to remember Adam West as Batman, too - and it turned me off the Batman franchise for decades. I'm also old enough to remember how much the original Battlestar Galactica (Dirk fucking Bendict emphatically included) sucked rancid dog balls.

not to mention I believe it was Richard Hatch (the actor who played starbuck in the original series, and plays Tom Zarek in the new series) who stated something to the effect of it being a stroke of genius to recast starbuck as a woman. I have only seen a few of the original series episodes so i guess i don't know what i am missing, but having Starbuck as a woman just seems right to me. You can play up sexual tension, and get a whole new dynamic and story out it, just saying is all.

Grainy, bad '70s hair and a cigar next to a plastic robot versus supreme hotness? That has got to be the worst evidenced argument I've ever seen. shocked

I think that you will find that Richard Hatch played Apollo and that Dirk Benedict played Starbuck originally. I have to say that they are two completely different characters and they are both the best parts of the shows they were and are in. Personally I love the original Starbuck but then again I grew up watching the original and you have to consider the time that it was made.

oh, my mistake. i just knew that he (richard hatch) was in the original and I incorrectly assumed he had played starbuck because of his comment about liking starbuck cast as a woman. one of these days i will watch the original just to see what kind of realationship there is between starbuck and apollo as two hetero men, as opposed to a man and a woman with some love hate feelings towards each other.

Sorry bout this funky comment, i still don't know how to use all the options on here for commetns and so i messed this one up.

I loved the show when it first came on the air, but then I got busy and missed most of season 3. I managed to catch the season cliffhanger, and was extremely put off by the inclusion of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower (and the crappy rendition of the tune).

And Galactica on Earth? Do we really need to revisit Galactica 1980? I certainly don't want to see the current cast riding around on flying motorcycles. I would, however, like to see a chimp in a robotic dog costume before the series is over.

I'm not sure that Tigh really is a Cylon, or any of the others who were "revealed" last episode.

How often to you feel the need to reemphasize your manhood? They're both Starbuck, except that the newer Starbuck actually consists of more than 2 dimensions.

I totally agree that BSG is the BEST show on Television-hell,I can't think of ANY show that had more tension and drama then BSG's 1st regular episode "33"!

i'm only 1 and a half seasons in... but man you guys are easily entertained. and obviously don't have hbo.

its entertaining... but best show on tv? really?

my favorite part is that 90 percent of the drama is due to a tragedy of errors due to characters keeping information from one another, when it usually makes no sense to do so. the only tv show to successfully build a show off of this gimmick is three's company.

also, sci fi: i like. religion-fi..... not compelling.

things that but me about BSG #26 - the acting of mary mcdonald. the blurry-eyed, dancing eyes, soft spoken, clear the throat, pause, constant sad-smile, shaky voice thing... really? the same technique you used for dances with wolves is appropriate here? or is that the only thing you know how to do?

bump for razor. smile
