For Ville Valo, life as a musician is very surreal, or very "Dali-esque" as he might say, and he's not referring to the painter's infamous mustache. In some ways Valo is still waiting for the day when he wakes up and finds out it's all been a giant LSD experiment in the Finnish military, where institutional illusions of grandeur and dreamlike oddities smash artistic ambition through the looking glass of fame, personal casualties be damned. "It’s like 'Alice in Wonderland'," he says. "Because there...

Valo is my Idol. HIs style and persona are what rock is about.
I'm glad to say that I was at their first canadian show in Toronto and it was amazing, just like the other 3 times i've seen them play. Never disappointing.

I THINK... Him its an amazing band(my favorite band... i have an altar , with candles and a lot of photographs...every monday i cut myself and bleed out on the top of a table , where i have Mige, Linde , Gas , Burton ,and Ville pics...c´mon , im just kiddind, but indeed i would die for them), but Ville valo, like the lead singer, puts the ingredient make the band darker and indeed more interesting.
The interview was great , with that black humour i love but also opening a tiny window to try to understand the dynamic of Him , and the energies and interests , that give them the inspiration for their songs.
Ville, really from the bottom of my heart, u are like a modern Baudelaire, with a heavy weight on your shoulders , but facing the obstacles with a smile , even if its "bittetsweet" laugh.
and the rest of the guys Burton, Gas , Mige and Linde are like other damned poets, but translating with their instruments the chords of joy, misery, happiness and guilt , we all humans must feel in the long road of life.

My congratulations for the interview , Erin Broadley, and i hope (with all the strenght i have) Him continues enchanting and cursing us with the lyrics and music they are used to create.
Ville Valo, u have stolen my heart and im glad u did it.
Because , indeed like u said "at the end of the day i just want to be happy"
I want to be happy too, even if the tears are a price a need to pay ...
Cheers for all Him guys

"...but, you know, at the end of the day you are one with your art and everybody's an artist. Everybody's a piece of art. Everybody's got a story to tell. Everybody tells it in different ways, some people tell it the way they walk, some people tell it the way they talk or the way they smile. You've just got to have some imagination."

I was becoming disturbed at the amount of pissing R. Kelly was doing throughout that interview.

I just had vengeance in me and was pointing my middle finger up toward the cloud where R. Kelly was pissing on top of me.

Thank you, Ville for guaranteeing me an extremely weird mental image every single time I walk through the rain from now on.

I loved the show HIM put on at the House of Blues in New Orleans. It was too bad HIM were delayed by a year because of Katrina, but hey, the show was definitely worth the wait! I hope they come back soon; I need another dose of love metal. Best wishes.

Ville Valo seems like a really down to earth kinda dude. Most rock stars try and glamorize their life through the interview but it seems like he is keepin it real.
That whole part about adding definitions to the word love in the dictionary should be easy. There are like a million definitions just ask everybody what it means for them.
Thats a Dope idea tho. Good Luck.

There's a lot about R Kelly in this interview and lots of mentioning piss eeek I love the humour....

Being able to adapt, and adjust to a career that careens in an upwards spiral of success sounds so hard to cope with especiall with the fusion of the self with the band image.... I have massive respect that Ville went and sorted his business out. I suppose that's the difference from rock star to rock genius....

I must say, once again, it feels brilliant to be seduced by dark brilliant lyrics and melodies that flow like blood..... Saw the very talented gents in London 2 or 3 times, and look forward to their Vegas show. It'll be my first time seeing them stateside smile

oh. And I have me the safehaven in life and death rings along with the most amazing pocket watch ever.....I LOVE HIM!!!! love

"Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think."-Jean De La Bruyre

The interview proved this quote very well. The great thing is that the two categories are not distinct. One can straddle the line, and it is a thin line, between comedy and tragedy, feeling and thinking. The problem is that the same thing looks totally different from one side of the line to the other. In order to get the balanced view that we seek, you have to straddle the line. Once you've taken the position straddling the line, you can accept, as Ville says, that there is humor in the melancholy, and melancholy in even the most humorous things. If more people realized this, I think the world would be a better place.

HIM kicks ass...you guys need to come to IOWA!
