What do you want on your tombstone?

I think Sid's Nancy is buried in the same cemetary as my grandfather and her's read "Your Odyssey is over" okay I thunk...a bit too dramatic...but what about yours I ask fellow peeps...and don't be a twat and say "Pepperoni or extra cheese"...something funny or enlightening..."This space for rent" perhaps. Remember, when you're gone and if you don't have any statues covered in pigeon poop-- this is it and don't you want something for the drunk teenagers to read while they're fooling about on your grave in the year 2525...so make it count! Only twinkies last forever!

i can't think of anything i'd want less after death than to have my body turned into a toxic bomb and buried in an overpriced box in an overpriced plot.

i'd like half of my ashes dumped on my brother's head and the other half added to a pottery glaze.

since no one in my family will do what i want (they don't when i'm alive...what's going to change when i die?), i want my tombstone to say:

the morning glory which blooms for an hour
differs not at heart from the giant pine,
which lives for a thousand years.

I think this sums up what I'd want if I planned on having a tombstone:

I like simple and to the point:

I also like the one from The Royal Tenenbaums. I forget the exact wording, but it went something like
"Died saving his family from a sinking ship" Something to remember me by.

when i was a kid, starting at about age 5, i always wanted to be mummified and put into a museum's eqyptian wing when i died.

now, i don't want to be buried, but if i was i think i'd want a blank tombstone.

i like that! maybe i should reconsider my plan...

Optimally, I'll be creamated. Cemetaries take up too much damned room. Look at Japan; that's where familes go on picnics. Chowing down with honorable ancestors is fine and all, but... not for me.

how about "Look behind you!" Then have another tombstone that says "Ha ha, you suck!" or something equally witty.

for some reason i have a feeling that when i die someone's gonna say "he died like he lived.... sitting on his ass" or something equally crappy... i bet i'll die from a heart attck while mastrubating...

Ever since reading the Ender series, I've wanted to have a tree planted in my chest and buried. Figure that if there is a soul and all, it would be cool to stick around in a tree for a bit.

As for an inscription, perhaps: "Shot in bed by a jealous lover. 1976-2076"
