....as if the Japanese weren't weird enough already.

According to a few VARIOUS SOURCES, there is apparently a restaurant in the entertainment district of Tokyo that allows patrons to choose an animal, fuck it, then have it prepared for dinner and served to them and their guests.

Yes, you read that correctly.

It is, of course, not cheap. Costs vary, but average around $7,000 US dollars for a visit to the restaurant and you have to make a certain annual income to even be considered.

Animals range from chickens to dogs to pigs, of both sexes, and reportedly cost different amounts depending on how "active" they are.

I, like most reading this, are completely disgusted. Being an animal lover, vegetarian, and supporter of anti animal cruelty organizations, it's hard for me to imagine why this sort of thing is allowed to remain open and operate, much less why anyone would WANT to partake in it. I suppose it's just the thrill of something new and forbidden.

Either way, I'm heading to the bathroom to vomit my breakfast.

I don't really believe it, but I think bestiality is legal in Japan.

I'm going to use this thread as an opportunity to share my first time in a porno store.

I walk in, and literally the first thing I hear is some painfully obese man with sunglasses on (natch) say ". . .well beastiality is legal in Oregon."

I call bullshit.

According to the link:

Once the lawyer had finished porking the pig, the couple returned to the first floor and sat at a table to dine. M says she was totally shocked when staff members carried in roast pork -- made of the same sow the lawyer had earlier been with.

"I was about to vomit," M says. "It was the same pig that had been squealing just moments before. Now, it had been roasted whole. I managed to avoid eating it by only having salad."

[EDIT]
Roasting just a pork loin takes 2 hours @ 350 degrees. That's cooking time and doesn't include any prep time.

How long are these patrons hanging around? A half day?

well.... it's $7000. i would assume it might be more than an hour long affair.

i'm not saying it's true or untrue, although the second article is definitely more legit. i'm just posting horrificly ridiculous news that i've run accross.

I've been part of two pig roasts and the cooking took a minimum of 6 or 7 hours. And that's not including the hour and a half it took to get the spit set up, the fire started and the pig on the spit.

The second article is just a summary of the first article.

This article is based on a transcribed story from the Mainichi Daily News that originally appeared in a Japanese language publication.

WaiWai stories are transcriptions of articles that originally appeared in Japanese language publications. The Mainichi Daily News cannot be held responsible for the contents of the original articles, nor does it guarantee their accuracy. Views expressed in the WaiWai column are not necessarily those held by the Mainichi Daily News or Mainichi Newspapers Co.

my first paragraph began "according to sources...", quickly followed by "apparently...."

not "there's a confirmed horrid restaurant in tokyo".

but, you know, whatever. you can get mad at me and be snarky about me posting a topic about something that might be (or most likely is) false. i suppose that's your right.

it's possible to roast pork in minutes.

it's all about portion size folks. you all seem to be assuming that when they say roast pork, they're reffering to a whole pork loin. or a whole pig for that matter, a pig on a stake? c'mon now.

Well the quote from the "story" says roasted whole. So yes... that's what I assume they mean.

Oh you don't tie it to the spit. The spit goes through the pig. And it's god damned delicious.
