As a man. I've always taken no as a answer... I was raised by women so I don't known if I'm an exception to that rule. But as a man nothing makes me violently angry as rape.. I decided not to get into law enforcement because of that fact. I despise rapists with passion. Guys no means no. When it comes to sex.
And to justify the law enforcement statement. I would do anything in my power to catch or stop rape. But I don't know if I could stop myself from inflicting major bodily harm to any rapist I came into contact with.
Sorry Suri, I was looking for a support group for men who are in relationships with suvivors of rape. And just got pissed off.. My apologies for bumping an old thread.
'Bitch_PhD thinks the best way to prevent rape is to teach boys to take no for an answer.'
yes. yes. yes. who the fuck is raising men that think their wants are more important that anyone else's?
i have two boys, and in our house "no means no" starts at toddlerhood. oh, you want that toy? your friend said 'no', that means you stop. playfighting? once someone says 'no' or 'stop', it ends. fucking period, the end. a boy who is raised on 'stop when you are asked to' does not grow up to feel they have the 'right' to sex with an unwilling partner.
glad this thread was bumped, i got a chance to see it.
