Phew! Thanks for the correction there. I sometimes stray from being uptight, overly-serious, and judgmental. Thanks for bringing me back to Earth.

Hey, do you think we should comment on every post that doesn't hit the mark when some asshole like me is trying to have fun?

Can I add you as a buddy?

P.S. I was thinking about getting a stick for my ass too....what colors did yours come in?

Sorry to harsh your buzz dude... I'm a cancer researcher so I guess I don't find it funny. But if you do, knock yourself out.

I suppose your profile explanation of 'I'm retarded' is enough for me... and telling everyone to 'eat shit' certainly fits with your aggressive posting.

I dunno. Coming from a balding guy who calls himself "Johnny," it's a bit hard to take you seriously.

My guess is there are people in your line of work who actually can joke about job-related issues. Maybe you could learn from them.

I really don't care what your profession is. I guess according to your logic, nobody should make any jokes about dead people in case someone here works at a morgue.

And yeah, I do prefer to make silly jokes and to have fun over being rigid.

If I was the type of person who condoned cemeteries, I'd rather have, "He had a lot of fun" on my headstone as opposed to, "Such a serious guy" on it.

Lighten up. Life is far too short to take it so seriously.

This shouldn't be surprising at all. There are tens of thousands of scientific articles about the links between hormones and cancer.

Check it out sometime.

Yeah.

(Bickering between you and Gringo aside)... Thank you for saying that.

Hormonal contraception can be very dangerous for some women.

Please don't take this article for Gospel without researching the opposing side of the issue.

I was put on th pill because of Polycystic Ovaries and Endometriosis, and two months later was so depressed I was having anxiety attacks and crying like a baby for no reason, despite my antidepressants (another kettle of fish entirely, but mine works for me). It may've been the only side effect I had, but it was certainly debilitating til I came off it.

Girls, if you're thinking of going on the pill, talk seriously with your doctor about any possible side effects, especially if you happen to be predisposed to any of them.

You weren't on the right pill - my original one made me so depressed, constantly crying, my skin was worse than it had ever been before, I was tired, mean and I completely lost my sex drive - which kind of defeats the point (although no sex you'd think would = no babies so I guess it was doing my job)

My new one is fantastic though, I feel completely normal, my periods are no longer a nightmare and I actually want to fuck my boyfriend (I'd forgotten how high my sex drive actually was, it was kinda scary!) and I haven't noticed any side effects yet.

Most people have to experiment when they first try the pill and give them each a three month trial until they find the right one for them. It takes some people years.

Did they say or find out what chemicals or parts of the pill were causing the lack of cancer and would it work on men?

Studies will show that you can catch cancer from the penis. For serious.

From a soon-to-be study:

Research has indicated that nearly 97% of all females who developed cancer had contact with at least one penis in their life. Conclusive evidence that the penis contributes significantly to the risk of developing all cancers.

I bow to you, sir!

I've had nothing but trouble from birth control. I was on that stupid patch for a minute, and I was very nauseous all the time. I've tried various pills since then, and they all just messed up my stomach and made me sick. I've talked to my sisters about the type they're on, and they told me they had the same problems, but finally found a couple that work for them, one of which I'm going to be giving a try here shortly. If you're having problems with finding a pill, talk to female family members and see what works for them.

Rock the fuck on: a new study says that the pill cuts the risk of any kind of cancer by 12%.

It cuts the individual's risk of cancer of any kind by up to 12%.

From the linked article:

Using the first dataset, they calculated that a woman's risk of developing any cancer is cut by 3%, and using the bigger second dataset, they put the reduction at 12%. If the true figure is 12%, there will be one fewer cancer case for every 2,200 women using the pill, they say, and if it is 3%, there will be one fewer for every 10,000.

I hope it's at the higher number, but people shouldn't be mislead.

Ya. I am curious as to why the first line didn't say 3-12%

And there are other studies out that say the pill can increase certain other cancer risks. Unless this study negates all others--definitively--it's not quite the panacea the article rocks it the fuck on to be.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's super amazing wonderful if these are long term proven benefits on the higher end of the 3-12% spectrum! I just think this article is a bit misleading.

It's been tested a lot in Australia, where it was developed. A lot of medicines have some short term side effects, it's about weighing up the risks.

1. Don't self-medicate.

2. It's about how the effects of oestrogen and progesterone on WOMEN.

[women taking the pill] are significantly less likely to suffer from certain other cancers, in particular ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer, which affects the lining of the womb...

2.1. Think about it.

3. Men react differently to androgens. For instance, over-exposure to oestrogen has been known to give men pronounced breasts.

4. I've yet to hear about a man getting cervical cancer, but I'm sure it will make the news when it happens tongue

I don't expect anything less from you really. I could even have agreed with your observation if you were not so derisive, condescending, and boorish. Since you resorted to insulting my appearance, which had nothing to do with my comment to you, allow me now to comment on your Dumbo ears, your incredibly metrosexual faux soul patch, necklace and olive green shirt.

It's no coincidence that you don't list what job you have- if any- since you obviously have no career prospects. You hide behind the hipster veneer of coolness, but that bullshit doesn't fool me- I've seen your type come and go for years. You are a fraud. I wouldn't hire you to wash my dishes. I would love to know what fast food drive through you work for, but you will never tell me. That would blow your cover at the local dance club as you try to impress 18 year old girls how fucking cool you are, never mind where you live. I just laugh. Good luck with that.
