So, the idea is to make the idiots who fuck up MySpace join another site to fuck that one up too?

Brilliant.

The only reason I still go there is because you still go there.

I would leave, but I have a medical condition that prevents me from joining a new networking site. The doctors call it 'the Lazy.'

Well since the idiots probably think they're cool that might be a problem.

if you're friends with people who are idiots, but think they're cool, perhaps you should reconsider your social situation wink

I'm just tired of going to a site that is nothing but error messages and spammy comments/friend requests.

That site wasn't so much for me as it is for everyone. It's a place to redirect friends to alternatives. And it didn't really take me very long to do.

This presumes that there are cool people on myspace.

+1

I hate most of my jerkoff myspace friends anyway. And it just enables me to be a better, more efficient stalker, which is really not good for anybody.

It also turns normal people insane. Friendships I've treasured for two decades have been under a lot of strain with the advent of "I know you logged in the other day, WHY DIDN'T YOU HIT ME BACK?!!! And don't tell me you're too busy or some shit."

Yeah, I want these people to go back to being completely offline forever. They were nice then. surreal

I seriously don't understand why everyone keeps saying Facebook is better than Myspace. I can't harass anyone with my awesome taste in music on Facebook, so where's the fun in that?

(Not to mention the site design on Facebook is too complicated for Windows 98 to handle, meaning I can't check messages at work. Strike two.)

Who says you can't? See the brilliance of Facebook is not in the default social networking features themselves, though that alone makes it better than MySpace.

You can also add applications to your profile that do any number of things, including listing your favorite music and recommending music to others. Let's say you install the Last.fm application, or use the Posted Items application to post YouTube videos or music files, all of which show up on all of your friends' feeds.

And it's not just music. I have my Netflix queue on my Facebook profile, so people can see what movies I'm watching. I can also rate and review the latest movies I've seen, and other people can comment on it and we can check each other's movie compatibility and scoff at their movie tastes.

iRead is another application that lets you do the same thing with books, I've had dozens of books recommended to me on Facebook thus far.

If anything you can be even more annoying on Facebook with all of your tastes. All of this stuff shows up in your feed (which you can customize for a higher signal to noise ratio).

And not to be too Facebook-centric, Pownce also allows you to upload music to your profile, to be shared with all of your friends. It's becoming a great way to find new indie music that your friends want you to listen to (like an online mix tape so to speak).

Now if you like MySpace because you're able to rape my speakers for the few seconds before I turn it off every time I visit your page, then yeah, MySpace wins for that.

(Not to mention the site design on Facebook is too complicated for Windows 98 to handle, meaning I can't check messages at work. Strike two.)

You mean MySpace doesn't evoke countless crashes and errors in Windows 98? That must be what they use as their reference platform.
