I've just watched nearly all of "Tideland" and am in pursuit of prolonging the ending. It's like nearing the end of a good book, I'm sick with knowledge that the end is so close. So, I've -paused- the movie to start this thread.

What must it be like to be the King Midas of film? Terry Gilliam is just awe inspiring to me; as he is to many of you I'm sure!
This movie, Tideland, brings my mind back to Bazil with it's fantastic fantasy-vs-reality story telling! Obviously Gilliam's skill in cinema story telling is vastly more refined in Tideland than Brazil but the idea of the this world we pretend is real vs the world that the main character sees is more translatable to we=> the illusioned masses.

Don't get me wrong, Brazil was brilliant and if you haven't seen it you are lacking something important in what the world has to offer.

So, I am off to finish the movie, but I hope to see some comments about Gilliam movies you feel the need to give your two cents about when I return!

What a great movie.

No, comments so far but that's fine. Maybe some Gilliam fans will comment later?
I'm going to watch the commentary version, those are always great anyway!

I love his Monty Python stuff. Brazil is amaing. Time Bandits kicks ass. Most of his recent stuff I have not really cared for.

I'll take Uma Thurman naked in the Adventures of Baron Munchausen any day.
