I just recently quit playing Ultima Online. I started playing that right when it came out.. and found it very difficult to quit. I played on the Lake Superior Shard at for a couple years, than switched to Napa Valley. I also played some Everquest, didn't like it.. played some Asheron's Call, It was alright.. but it wasn't Ultima Online.. I finally settled with Dark Age Of Camelot which I love!

I have played UO, dident like it, i hate Everquest. I have played NWN to death, ive played BG2 online, and a couple lesser known ones.

And as for MUDS i use to play Phidar. its a cool mud, realy simple, but the people on there are messed up and have way to much loyalty to a game that is textbased...

I played quite a bit of Diablo II (if that counts) and a little Meridian 59. I've wanted to try Anarchy Online, but, like, it costs money and such. Same with multiplayer PSO.

And Elise, don't feel too bad. Last year we had a guy on our floor who played EQ about 15 hours a day, no kidding. Didn't go to class, didn't sleep much, only moved to eat and hit the bathroom. When his computer broke he put his TV in its place and watched TV for 15 hours a day instead. His spirited commitment to doing absolutely nothing warmed my heart.

there is also a ton of good coverage on gamespot.com

As good as Star Wars Galaxies looks, I'm not gonna give Verant 20 bucks a month to play it. Mainly due to their shitty customer support and overall bad attitudes.

These games are worse than crack as far as addiction. And just like a drug dealer, you first rock (30 days) is free.

I still enjoy them though!

it is crack.

the worse was during my uo days. i would play with a friend from work. and we would both leave work, go home, and log in. then we would do stupid things and kill monsters etc all night, then we would go back to our imaginary house (which i decorated) and hang out. then it was like....hey mike, is that the sun? oh shit it is the sun. fuck i got to get to bed. a few hours later we were at work again.

you could seriously spend a serious amount of time on these stupid games. its sooo horrible.

and when SWG comes out, or asheron's call 2, or any of the new ones. i probably won't be around much again.

=\

pso caused me not to leave my house for months... gemstone 3 was the love of my life for almost 3 years.... good god i played that thing to death..... right now i am just looking for something different... saw the beta page for a game a while ago... seemed really rad but i can remember anythinga about it so that last sentence is really pointless...

I've played all of the big online ones: Ultima Online, Everquest, Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot and I'm currently in the Asheron's Call 2 beta test (I also run the largest AC2 fansite on the net, AC2 Warcry - http://ac2.warcry.com smile ).

I liked UO back in the days, I never really got into EQ, AO was too buggy at release (although I've played it again recently and enjoyed it a bit) and DAoC just got to be "same old, same old" way too fast for me. I'd have to say that AC was my favorite of the bunch, as evidenced by the fact that I volunteered my time working on a fansite (the Crossroads of Dereth, another Warcry site) before moving on to run the AC2 site. smile

apparently, they're not. I did muds for a while, and after that could never get into online gaming. Three Kingdoms was my mud of choice.

World of Warcraft.

But I guess if it's between the two, City of Heroes, I played it for awhile, it was fun. I had SWG too, but just couldn't care about it.
