Yeah, I feel really sorry for him frown

You don't have to! If you look at that article you'll see it was written back in 2004. I saw a Discovery special about this guy just a couple of months ago and he is FINE. Medically, at least. They did MRIs and whatnot and found that the tumor on his thyroid basically strangled itself and died back when he was a kid, so he is okay and doesn't need surgery after all.

Also, he is not a veterinarian any more, he had too much trouble getting into town and that sort of thing.

It was a really interesting show, you guys should catch it if you can. He was very sweet. He never sought out the Guiness Record - he doesn't care about it. He said he didn't want to take credit "for something God did".

Crap, if you would've posted this three hours later than I would've beat you to it. Dang it. Oh well.

By the way, I have to agree and say that it was a good show.

I think we need independent confirmation on this dude. Someone needs to go out there and ask him: "Happy? Sad? the world needs to know."

Also isn't the oldest tallest man the one who reached down a dolphins throat to grab something because surgeons couldn't perform a surgery on the animal?

That sounds kind of like something Chuck Norris would do.

Chuck Norris would have ripped the dolphin in half, eaten the garbage that was choking it, then sutured it back together using strands of hair from his beard.

Maybe it's just because I'm drunk, but that is relieving smile He sounds like a really good guy, who's had a rough break in life.

What?! Who'd idea was that?

"We can't operate. "

"So what should we do?"

"Get the worlds tallest man to reach down its throat."

"What?"

"No, seriously. It'll work."

For those of you that thing the dolphin thing is weird, Bao Xishun wasn't even the first to do it. In 1978 Clifford Ray, an NBA player with 3 foot 9 inch arms, reached down a dolphin's throat to retrieve a screw the dolphin had swallowed.

Stadnyk originally didn't want to be measured by the Guinness people. Though he claimed to be the world's tallest man, he said he did not want the attention that would come along with the title. It made his claim sound kind of sketchy, but I guess he decided to let them measure him after all.

but i feel happy about it too, that man seems so sweet and gentle, it'd be terrible to think of anything bad happening to him.
