Back in 1984 Slayer and other metal mainstays Venom and Exodus hit the road on what was dubbed the Combat Tour. According to band legend, one drunken night on the tour bus, Slayer frontman Tom Araya -- just a tempestuous twentysomething -- stumbled down the hallway looking for a place to take a leak. Venom vocalist Cronos joked that the bathroom was right there, in his mouth. Araya proceeded to whip it out and piss all over Cronos' hair. Sure, Cronos left Araya with a shiner but it's all part of what...
a buddy at a slayer show saw a guy in a wheelchair get passed on top of the crowd - he was loving it. only when slayer is playing could that have happened.

wow. thats amazing. awesome for that guy to experience something like that, you know?
i've been really impressed with this last album they put out. i'm sure i'm going to get in shit for this, but in terms of production it feels a lot like master of puppets.

Yah , I really like it too . Best thing they've done probably since Dave left .

actually I saw that happen at a Slipknot show, the guy was a parapalegic or quadropalegic (spelling??) and they passed him right up onto the stage st the request of the band & they played a few songs with him up there.
I felt bad for all the people on the floor who had to lift his special wheelchair, I thought for sure the guy was gonna leave in an ambulance but I suppose if the only thing you can move is your head you don't give a shit if you get knocked aroun in the pit or fall from above someones head.
Tom Araya plays the bass, not Jeff Hanneman. Hanneman plays guitar along with Kerry King.
Slayer has kept their fan base growing by being true to themselves and their music, and by being real people who never let fame get to their heads. Their sound has evolved over the years, not drastically changed like lots of other "popular" metal bands.

The same day I won “Man of the Year” through Metal Hammer’s reader’s poll. That means more to me because the fans voted for it.
Yeah, Metal Hammer's cooler than anything the Academy could ever do. He's probably right that they don't know the other 9 songs. Screw them. I think they're a bunch of idiots. I'd much rather have an award from Metal Hammer anyways.
Too bad he likes the Raiders though. Goes to show football requires intelligence to run. Davis used to be brilliant and now he's senile and the team shows it.
I've unfortunately never seen Slayer live. Had tickets once and got sicker than hell. My wife ended up going in my place and she said they were better than Manson. She likes Manson better on CD, but Slayer better live.
ive had the pleasure of seeing them live 3 times.
One of the times being won by a raffle they were having at Sam Ash Guitars. i was able to go back stage and I won Tom Aria's bass which I still have.
Slayer's concerts have been the best shows Ive ever experiences. And another plus having Hatebreed open for them
