I am in dire need of help. I just finished reading "The Da Vinci Code," and now, I need another idea for a good book to read. Someone told me "The Devil Wears Prada" was good, but I want to opinions of you, my favorite people in the whole goddamned world, the members of SG. love

I, Claudius and Claudius the God by Robert Graves is one of my favorites. Historical fiction of the Roman Imperial family, it's interesting and fun to read.

The Jeeves and Wooster stories by PG Wodehouse is some of the funniest shit ever written.

Reading the synopsis of The DaVinci Code, you might like The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. That's good too.

Just about anything by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. is good. I've made my way through most of his works and haven't been disappointed yet.

Where does one start??

Anything by Douglas Coupland, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood and Little Altars Everywhere (Rebecca Wells)- (avoid the movie like the plague... I refuse to watch it), She's Come Undone (Wally Lamb), The Last Time I Wore a Dress (DaphneScholinski), Lolita (Vladimir Nabokov), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (Betty Smith), and anything else on my favorite book list that I've failed to mention. Oh, and The Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath). The Liar's Club and Cherry (Mary Karr)...

I could go on, but I'll spare you.

The movie was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I enjoyed parts of it.

Fatherland or Brandenburg if you're into nazi dramas where something secretive went on in WWII that affects us today

Peshawar Lancers by S.M. Stirling if you like adventure stories mixed with alternative history

HArry Turtledove (anything by him) if you're into alternative history

Asimov's Foundations series or Robot series if you dig Science Fiction (not to mention Dune by Frank HErbert of course)

Anything by Melanie Rawn if you're into fantasy novels with dragons, political intrigue and the best damn characters on page i've read

Elric of Melnibone or the Nomad of the Time Streams by Michael Moorcock iif you like fantasy mixed with alternate history

IF you like Star Wars, only the novels by Timothy Zahn should be read

"It" by Stephen King is probably the best damn horrow novel i've ever read if you're into that.
