I just picked up a 360, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for really solid titles.

Dead Rising is fun, although it gets a bit repetitive.
NHL 07 is awesome.

Gears Of War is much like a rollercoaster ride through the Louvre. It's exhilarating and will leave you slackjawed in amazement at times with how gorgeous it is, but it's really short and after you're done you'll be humming "Is That All There Is"?

Dead Rising is fun, but gets old pretty quickly unless you're a complete freak for zombie movies.

Crackdown is also fun, and also gets old quickly, but replace "zombie movies" with "collecting green orbs and watching shit blow the fuck up".

Oblivion is a good pick if you don't have a monster PC rig. I disliked Morrowind and still found a lot to like about Oblivion.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is also a great game, and should now be dirt cheap.

Burnout Revenge and Guitar Hero II are amazing, if you haven't played the PS2 versions.

Also, if you missed out on some original Xbox games, most of the best ones are now backwards compatible.

well, dead rising was on my list anyway since i love zombies, but now its definitely on my list. i am not a big sports fan, but after seeing the pure pwnage ep where jeremy plays it and then hearing a good review here, i may have to check it out. guitar hero 2 and guitar hero encore, rocks the 80s i both have for the ps2.

i will have to look into crackdown, i do so like explosions.

thanks for the responses.

Oblivion is much more scalable than it's made out to be and the lack of mods on the 360 would absolutely kill the experience for me. So I highly recommend the PC version if even remotely possible.

You might also want to investigate Viva Pinata. I mean, you get to whack people with a shovel. And murder pinatas' parents, then feed their sweet delicious innards to their offspring.

Table Tennis makes a great timewaster when you have friends who don't have experience with game controllers.

Anyway, check the marketplace to get the demo's first smile
