I agree with most, a toss up, but yeah I really do like Bruce as Ash in the E.D. series. As for Dead Alive its a hidden gem of a movie in my opinion. Its in the same category as evil dead 2 with lots of comedy, and tons of blood. That last scene with the lawn mower.... ahh memories! if you haven't seen the film (Dead alive a.k.a Brain Damage) go look it up on www.imdb.com and take a gander at the director

wasn't there already a movie called brain damage b4
dead alive about this boy who meets this worm and he needs the worm because the worm injects addictive mind altering drugs into his brain and the worm needs him to find victims for the worm to eat.
oh boy a king kong remake... Why must they ruin a good thing. Didn't they learn with Godzilla and other horrid attempts at remakes? I just saw Day of the Dead again yesterday, video store here got some new dvds and I just had to rent this one again. Now all they need to get is Dawn of the Dead on a special version dvd!

ya that cgi godzilla geez
don't fuck meant godzilla
he was meant to be played by a man in a rubber suit
there is not a good track record for big box office remakes in the past 5 years or so. AS well as with comic book heros (aside from x-men which I have heard was actually good). Spiderman was lame and focused more on the teeny actors than the true story. I shouldn't need to say anything more than the title of "the hulk", and dare devil... Horror movies are a dying breed also. Last decent horror flick I saw was House of 1000 Corpses. Where are the greats like we had in the 80's? The ones that didn't need all this crappy cgi stuff to look real or to scare us!?!
Just my opinion, its late and this Zyban is a killer on me..
Y'all are comparing apples and oranges again. They may both have zombies, but NOTLD and ED are two completely different films, both unique products of their times. There is no "which one is better" issue here, because neither one is "better" than the other. They both work, and that's all that matters. BTW, I didn't think the first Evil Dead film was all that funny - I mean, by the end I was laughing, but it was a twitching-gibbering-lunatic type of laugh, not "oh ha ha, that was so funny" type of laugh. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness - now there's funny for ya!!
Which one do you prefer, now, that's certainly discussion-worthy. For me, depends on my mood. If I'm feeling gloomy and noir, it's NOTLD for me. If I need to get completely and totally mental, then Evil Dead it is.
