By now we've learned that many celebrities (or celebretards, as I like to call them) don't exactly demonstrate the sharpest judgment skills. We've gaped and gawked at the lame excuses they've offered for their astonishing stupidity: Paris "didn't know her license was suspended," and Lindsay "was wearing someone else's pants." Uh huh.

But Michael Vick claiming that he "didn't know" what was happening on his property and pleading "not guilty" to dog fighting charges today is too much. His Nov. 26 trial date can't come soon enough. No matter which name you call him by, Michael Vick (AKA Ron Mexico, AKA Ookie) is a fucking celebretard of the highest order.

His 10-year, $130 million contract and (quickly dwindling) $7 million yearly endorsement portfolio have obviously warped his brain and led him to believe that he's above the law. His incredible stupidity and gall would almost be comical if not for the numerous dogs that he forcibly bred, trained to be killers, tortured, injected, tethered to car axles, starved, shot, electrocuted and drowned.

Dan Shannon of the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals, said lack of prosecution is [a] reason why dog fighting has not grabbed headlines.

"Unfortunately, it doesn't get brought to justice that often," he said. "People don't hear about it because there's not a lot of high profile cases."

The potential silver lining here is that as a celebretard, Michael Vick's fame has brought to light (and hopefully will bring to an end) the cruel and barbaric activity of dog fighting.

Mr. Vick faces a maximum penalty of six years in jail and a $350,000 fine if convicted. The N.F.L. could also take punitive action against Mr. Vick, perhaps jeopardizing the 10-year, $130 million contract he signed with the Falcons in 2002.

Not to mention probable, upcoming charges of racketeering based on the gambling aspects of dogfighting.

Do they have rape stands in prison?

He's guilty. I mean come on..it's a no brainer. The guy has everything in the world...yet has to screw it all up by doing something like this. It's disgusting...pit bulls are awesome dogs...I really hate all the people involved with dog fighting.

No shit he gave a BS answer in court. What do you think his lawyer said: "tell them the truth or you'll be intellectually insulting the listeners".

PETA should stay out of high profile cases like this that are already in the hands of the justice system. Having a bunch of terrorists speak on the reasonable side only makes that side seem distasteful (as is anything associated with the fucking douche-bag, firebombing, violence endorsing, "all pets are prisoners", hypocritical sacs of shit called PETA).

P.S. Why do animal lovers support PETA when their stance is that people shouldn't have pets? Probably the same reason why rational people support a group that uses acts and threats of physical violence to support their political viewpoint (which is exactly what PETA does and is the definition of terrorism). Ignorance.

No offense to you personally, of course. It's just that the premise that defense arguments somehow reflect the intelligence of the defender is absurd.

Let him rot in jail for being a dog-torturing asshole. The penalty for this sort of animal torture should mirror that applied to a case concerning human torture.

Wow. If Vick or anyone else that is into that shit is guilty, then they deserves the jail rapestand U spoke about. I love all animals and if they made PitBull fighting legal tomorrow I would still say it's a stupid sad thing to be into even tho they have been doing it since like the 1800's. . . but lke it or not it's innocent until proven guilty. You have to ask why is quail hunting legal? Didn't Cheney shoot that dude in the face? Why is deer hunting legal? 2 words. "Deer Hunter." Shall I say any more? What do they do to the greyhounds to get them to chase that fakeass rabbit around the track? What happens to the ones that lose all the time. What do they do to get the Horses to run so well? And what happens to the ones that lose all the time? What about that thing where the pit chases the hog in a close pen? Why isn't Peta going after them? Why is cock fighting illegal? Those questions are alot deeper than one might 1st think. Supposely or for certain Vick owns the house but doesn't live there which he has enough paper to live alot of places, so yea' he is guilty for being stupid enough to buy a crib for his dumbass convict cousins. But we all have those don't we? It's not illegal to have a rapestand. It's not illegal to have 100 pitbulls. It's not illegal to breed pits which Vick did have a license for that. It's not even illegal to be present at a dog fight in most states.
Wrong is Wrong no matter how you slice it but I like to know all the details before I go jumping the shark. I had a friend that was killed by a drunk driver so I would tend to think that DUI is a bit worst if your into grading that sort of thing. These are just things for food for thought. Ya' dig. I saw someone above mention greyhounds. I myself have owned a greyhound and my folks have one right now. They are great dogs. I don't support dog racing either, both greyhounds we have had were rescued from the track. They should outlaw that too I think...what they do to them is just as bad.

Vick is nothing but trouble. His brother was an idiot too. Seeing what Deion Sanders said makes me want to slap him too.

I used to work with Michael Vick and I can vouch that the guy was a Grade-A narcissistic asshole who thought no rule applied to him.

Just knowing the guy ona day to day basis, I'm not at all surprised to hear about this shit and would bet any sum of money that he is guilty as hell. As to him going to jail or not, the judicial system is so fucked he'll probably get off on some small technicality.

No he won't. You do not fuck with people's pets or with people's children. The only way he'd have gotten off is to plead guilty. That way he'd have not gone to jail and would have only been suspended from the NFL for two years or so, for at least showing the balls to admit he's wrong. But nope. Maximum sentence in jail and he'll never play in the United States again. You do not fuck with people's pets.

take me inside his mind? if you want to see the inside of his mind walk into a bank vault...anybody who claims to love "man's best friend" would never use them in that way. I mean, breeding a dog for the sport of hunting is one thing, breeding a dog for the sport of ripping another dog to shreds is another.

Sure he loved the meanest and maddest of the bunch, but what about the ones that weren't up to snuff? that's not love, that's a perverse form of survival of the fittest. If you had two sons and one of them was a pansy and the other was a bad ass would you love the pansy less? I hope you know the right answer Deion, and it ain't "tough love"

as for why it's legal to shoot a deer and not legal for two dogs to be pitted against each other for stakes, in the "sport" of deer hunting the point is to a) get food, b) show your buddies that you sat and waited in the woods for a dear to walk by and you shot it where it died quick enough that your fat ass didn't have to leave the beer behind...then stuck it on your wall. In the "Sport" of dog fighting you raise a dog to be mean, usually by treating him worse than garbage until who realizes that the only way he'll get any "love" (Read food, and less beatings) is if he is able to tear the shit out of his bretheren...oh, and you do this for money. My friend and I used to play a game while watching the discovery channel where we took a drink whenever the alpha dog had to assert himself...that's betting against nature...dog fighting is betting you were a bigger prick to your dog than the other guy was to his.

My gut instinct is to agree with you, because of how ape shit the public tends to go over animal stories, but I'm curious to know if this really holds up. Is animal cruelty the sort of thing that qualifies as a guaranteed you're fucked crime, or does it just seem like it would be that way?

Alright, if Scooter Libby can get the Get Out of Jail Free card, so should MIchael Vick. I've never seen Scooter Libby throw a goddamned touchdown!

But on a more serious note, it's not all that surprising that a group of people who are rewarded for competitive violence (football players) might have hobbies that are also competitively violent.

It's just sad he'd choose to engage in something as uncooth as dog fighting, where have all the monkey knife fights gone?

Yes. You just hold up a picture of a mangled dog and he will be convicted. At least one person on the jury will have owned a dog in his/her lifetime, and he'll be dead in the water.
