Loud music blares. "Hey can you turn that off? I've got to record something that hopefully people can take and use to make their lives a little easier" Courtney Taylor-Taylor yells, only slightly phased by the interruption. I'm sitting in a booth hidden in the back room of Calsport; local sports bar by day, rock yacht club by night. Across from me Courtney Taylor-Taylor, singer/guitarist of the Dandy Warhols, continues into insight and advice on relationships, song writing, think-tank bands, Bowie,...

i feel like i should smoke a cigarette now.

that was a very satisfying interview.

i usually hate how contrived and stagey and pseudo-informative interviews are.

nice!

It's pretty hard to find someone like these guys who just keep talking without being asked a question, y'know.

keith, i agree.

i was referring more to the trend i see in magazines,
that tend to focus and fixate on what i consider to be trivialities.

my friend is in a band and he gets asked the most asinine questions over and over like:
"so! what kind of girls do you like?
"what car do you drive?" etc. etc. ad nauseum.

the SG site, however, is an exception to this and that's why i enjoy reading things here.
including your stuff!

Dina, dina, I must warn you about the grammar police. They are vicious and evil and they are everywhere!

"Asinine."

We shall not speak of this again. If someone with a badge comes along, someone in a dress with two XXs somewhere in their name, or someone with a bouncing toaster, merely point and say "She went thataway!" and then slink off quietly.

I was supposed to see them lastnight in San Francisco, but the person I got to take my shift at work bailed at the last minute. The worst part was hearing all my friends tell me how great the show was all day today. I least I was able to sell my ticket.

I love this band. 13 Tales was fantastic, and I have a few from the first album...come to think of it, I burned them both from library copies. I guess I owe them some money now, oughta buy the new one. They'll likely get my ticket cash soon, anyway.

Courtney's a pretty positivity-minded guy, kinda like Andrew WK's rapping online about not beating yourself up, doing the best you can n such. Good for them.

I'm glad the interview is going over well. I wanted to do an interview not like what you read in magazines. It may have been easier for me , and perhaps them, because we know eachother. Fathead is an insanely funny man and Courtney can speak on a topic with such eloquence and knowledge...wonderful times.

Fathead and I wanted Zia to be interviewed for the site as well. Time wise and the fact that they have been very busy on tour wasn't going to allow time for a Zia interivew. I see COurtney and Fathead more often...my apologies for the lack of Zia in this interview.

Great Interview, I haven't read a good interview with the Dandy's for ages. Man, i can't believe the record came out three months late in the US, here in bonny UK we got it in May!
I really like the Dandy's, and i must say i have liked them for years now, hope Brent and the guys can join the site and drop some wisdom our way, they may not be 'typical' SG members but lets be nice and groovy and wish them luck!

If any of them pop up on the site and you recognicze screenname wise who they are I'd say give them a nice welcome to SG and let privacy endure smile. Although you never know if Fathead will issue his advice to the ladies smile
