lip peircing

I had my labret done about 4 or 5 months ago. I boobooed and put something on it that it didn't like, so it took a while to find what could heal it and get it all fixed up. Now I'm thinking of getting a ring in the center of my lower lip. Aalthough, when talking to my doc the other day he mentioned that bactieria/germs from inside the mouth can come out through the ring hole and infect the outside of the lip. Weird eh? I still want to get my lip pierced though. Badly.

What do y'all think of vertical labret's on guys?

and hows the scaring when you take it out and it heals?

(I plan on having one of them suit wearing jobs years from now)

I personally just got my lip done about 3 weeks ago or so. Vertical labret. Oh it's gorgeous and was fun to get pierced. I've always found the vertical labret more attractive in the center of one's lip than a normal labret. At least on women.. It just seems to have... a more feminine feeling.
As for the pain, there really wasn't any until it decided to get caught on my pillow while I was sleeping! That was not fun. But it's healing nicely and the swelling went down fairly quick. Quicker than my tongue, at least.
Since it hasn't healed completely I notice some slight scarring on the underside of my lip, and I have a dent on the upper side where the ball rests.
My boyfriend just got his lip done as well a couple days ago. Just a normal labret on the right side.
He says aside from the swelling and the slight ache of it having been just pierced it's fun.

My lip is by far my favorite piercing. It took about 2 months to heal and it was rather annoying. Despite my request to have it pierced with a labret post I was pierced with a giant ring to accomidate swelling. It flopped around an did more harm than good. I had it downsized about 3 weeks after getting it. Once the ring was sized to my lip I was golden.

Since I no longer have a conservative job, I am able to get my lip pierced! YAY! I have looked at several pictures and didn't find anything I liked until I saw Dorsal's piercing. Does anyone happen to know the name of the piercing on the side of her lip is? I have somewhat smaller lips and I think this would be perfect for what I am wanting. I would GREATLY appreciate it. I am actually hoping to get it done in the next few days!

As far as I know it is just a lip piercing. The other in the middle is a labret. I used to have both.

I had my lip pierced twice like a snake bite. Both piercing stayed infected for about four months before healing. The pain was nothing but the infections required constant maintenance and were quite annoying. I had them for about two years before having one rip the shit outta my lip in a drunken fight. Unless you are angry drunk like me than you should be fine but I realized piercings weren't for me after that.

I've always wanted to get my bottom lip pierced with the 2 rings like the lead singer from coheed and cambria (the same position but full loops) but i dont know how it would look because i have larger lips... any ideas?

I had two rings, side by side. the second one healed in half the time using salt water and alcohol-free mouthwash. nothing harsh like bactine or whatever the first piercer told me to use. didn't hurt, but the swelling was inconvenient for a few days.

I have a horizontal labret and for me it hurt like hell getting it done and it was sore as hell for a few days. I've had my ears pierced and my eyebrow pierced twice and those didn't bother me but the labret really hurt. Also the back got caught on my teeth a few times when I was eating and would pull on it which would really hurt and make it bleed, other than that it never has really gotten in the way. If you're a heavy smoker like I am it can also be a pain in the ass to clean it every time you smoke.
