My cell phone is on its last leg and my contract with Cingular expires soon, so I've been shopping around for new providers. Currently the front runner is Helio, and I'm looking for info from any of their current customers.
I've heard that they charge everyone a $300 deposit, but I didn't see any info on the website about this. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Have you any problems with your service?
Are their customer service reps dicks? Helpful? Typical?
Are there any hidden charges with the "All In" packages?
I've had excellent service with Cingular so far, but they don't have any plans that fit my needs. I hardly ever make calls on my phone, so I don't need very many minutes. I do text like a crazy person and would like to have web access from my phone. I'm considering getting the Ocean, because it claims to have a "unique HTML browser so you can surf any site on the web" as well as other cool looking features that I'll probably rarely use (GPS, Buddy Beacon, etc.)
My second (and more affordable) choice was T-Mobile, but I've heard that their signal in the Midwest is ridiculously weak and their customer service sucks. Is this all just a pack of lies?
Any opinions or experiences shared on either company would be appreciated. Tell me your stories!
