By the way it really seems weird to me that machine guns are illegal, but shotguns are not, and yet the USMC and many other professional military organizations think that shotguns are just peachy keen as infantry close assault weapons, and issue them often in preference to submachine guns or assault rifles.
Maybe gun control laws are not sanity checked.
ummmmmmm. maybe because shotguns have a legitimate use in hunting whereas machine guns do not. machine guns are designed specifically for military use of killing large numbers at a time.
shotguns, on the other hand, have characteristics of close in fire power and a scatter pattern that aids accuracy that makes them useful in breaching and close quarters battles situation. but, even in those situations, it is usually only a fraction of the team that carries them...usually in addition to, not in place of, thier usual weapon.
aaaaaaand. unless another gun law has been passed, the assault weapons ban expired.
on topic: that's fucked up them firing him. he certainly should have called someone immediatly, but it's understandable that he was a little bit freaked out.
Not to mention the fact that a machine gun holds a lot of bullets, and can fire them rapidly, while a shotgun only holds a few shells, and fires them relatively slowly.
wow, that sucks. at least he didn't get arrested as a possible suspect, i mean he did have a gun after all!?
also, for what its worth, machine guns are not at all illegal, here is one of many for sale to anybody who can pass the necessary background check and lives in a class III stateimpactguns.com

So, like, if a person DIES on their property, that's cool--but brandishing a weapon, in case the attackers are still at large, is right out?
Wow. Those must be GUBMINT reg-u-lay-shuns.
Actually, these are PRIBATE EHMPLHOYAR reg-u-lay-shuns.
totally off topic...but a tourniquet was probably the wrong thing to do. Gunshot wounds require direct pressure...a tourniquet is for backwoods, bare-minimum, life or death situations.
I wouldn't really condemn the guy...as he most likely reacted in the best way he knew how....but a tourniquet, if applied improperly, can cost you a limb rather than save one.
