Ahahaha that is the question that, to me, defined a Minnesotan accent. No one can tell where I'm from until I say "bag" or "bagel". I got Northern, which apparently makes some sense, although all the other Minnesotans here got Midland.
I think this test is not BS, but just very very incomplete. Triple the size and you could probably narrow down people's birthplace to a specific city, in some cases, or at least state or two. Or maybe a local city vs. rural difference or something. I don't speak like my grandparents. "Wash" == "warsh" for them.
