Kickass movie. Then again, how could it not be with that cast in that kind of movie?

Plus that was the film were I first starting crushing on Natalie Portman. Ok, she was young, but I was I like 13 at the time so it's all good.

Seems like everybody was in that movie. It's sort of like Mars Attacks! in that regard. Except Heat is actually a good movie.

I agree. Except I'd replace the word "because" with "Even though"

the same applies to 'The Sentinel' (the 70s horror flick), though it was a decent flick.

Back to how much 'Heat' rules

When you consider the running time of the movie , it's a surprise that everyone isn't in it . Not that I don't like it , just that it could have used a little judicious editing . I prefer Ronin for my cool De Niro flick , which while it doesn't have everyone in it , it does have a stellar cast in it's own right . And maybe the best car chase scenes ever .

No offense meant, but though Ronin is entertaining, I have to say that Heat really is a far superior film.

This isn't true. The diner scene was shot in one take, with two cameras. You're thinking of The Godfather: Part II.

*checks imdb*

you are right sir. i knew about Godfather Part 2, but was always under the impression of them not actually being on the same set at the same time for Heat.

Hey , it's all good . No reason we can't like different movies more then each other . Just don't bring up that damn Frankenstein movie De Niro was in . What a waste of 2+ hours of my life that was .

Just to confirm everybody's suspicions, Pacino's Vincent Hanna was supposed to be a cokehead. Or, in Pacino's words from the special edition DVD, 'bumped cocaine.'

"You could get killed walking your doggie!"

I have long held that they can never be in the same room together, lest the awesome consume all in a fiery gangster explosion. Heat was always the chink in the armor of my argument. This fact makes me very happy.

BTW: Pacino and De Niro are going to be in another film together in 2008. Supposedly they are both cops this time. Righteous Kill is in pre-production.

But ... this isn't true. The special edition DVD covers the shoot- they were there at the same time, shot about twelve takes with several cameras rolling all at once, and ended up using take 11. However, they hadn't met to rehearse the scene before shooting.
