Don't forget about "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" smile
That'd make one strange-ass movie tongue

I don't mind if a movie studio decides to cash in on my childhood, just as long as they try to stick with the original script. I mean, Transformers has totally been rewritten and Michael Bay decided to make Megatron look like a futuristic, jagged, beat-up trashcan who is only going to be in the movie the last half hour (like Venom in SM3). I have mixed expectations for the movie. Voltron, however, is going to get a low expectation out of me. Don't get wrong, I love Voltron. It's when you start reading about cast decisions like Paris Hilton as Princess Allura and Ashton Kutcher playing Keith, you kinda wish they'de leave all alone. I just hope the live action Thundercats makes it to the dustbin. Although, I think Giselle would make a great Cheetara. She's got the body and would be just as stale as the cartoon character. If they do that, then maybe i'll see it for the cheese factor.

The only live action movie from a 1980's cartoon i'd love to see would be The Mysterious Cities of Gold.

I remember MCoG, I used to love it.

I'm fimly in the "wait till i see footage camp for he-man and Thundercats

but with CLUE, Trivial Persuit, Monopoly. and Candy Land also all optioned (no this is not a joke)v

upside live action GI Joe has also been green lit(wanted to see that for about 20 years personlly ever since the adds w actors playing duke and CC) They would almost have to try to fuck up GI Joe

Thunder cats(one of Wil Whetons fav cartoons he did an interview for the bonus mat in volume one) defineitely had one of the 3 coolest themes of the 80s

GI Joe(the full version that stars as an intro for COBRA) and Transformers being the other 2

So many different 80s things I wanna comment on.

I had a roommate that got bit by the nostalgia bug and bought the first 2 season of Transformers. He was so enamored by it and I couldn't believe how awful it was. All that time away from Transformers had painted this picture of Epic Awesomeness.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Sure, there was nothing was like it at the time, but that's how things work here, in reality. Things evolve and get better. So I'm really not worried about Michael Bay shitting on my Transformers memories because watching the actual show already did that.

As for the Dark Crystal sequel, chill the fuck out. It's in good hands. The Jim Henson Company is producing. Gendy Tartakovsky is directing. He created:

Dexter's Lab - Stay with me here.

The Star Wars Clone Wars Cartoons - Better than Eps 1 - 3

Samurai Jack - The best animated series I think I've ever seen.

Talk all the shit you want on Hollywood running out of creativity, but have you seen Cartoon Network lately? (Ok, so they're in Atlanta. Shut up!) Not many toy-based cartoons on that channel. If I had a kid of my own, I wouldn't mind spending some time watching that channel with him/her/it at all.

And to tie it into Thundercats....

Oh, and I'm still waiting on my Rock Lords movie!

Yeah, exactly. The only movie out of this crazy list that I've got any hope for is the new Fraggle movie, like you said. The Muppet Blogspot has said that

Henson plans to keep CGI to a minimum, and want to return to the magic of the original Muppet productions.

I'm actually pretty damn excited.

I thought Jim henson was dead....Did he come back as a robot?

Probably refers to Brian Henson.

I can't believe I completely forgot about M.A.S.K.

I think the next step in 80's exploitation should be Disney dusting off their various late 80's series. Come on, who here would go see "Darkwing Duck Begins"?

And for reminder us how goddamn terrible these shows were in the first place.
