I was making no statement whatsoever, and in this sense I wasn't referring to political conservatives. I was referring to our nation in general as being sexually conservative compared to many others, including the Netherlands. In this case, I was referencing the typical American view that a lot of Americans have of places like Amsterdam (which many like to think of as a hotbed of drugs and prostitution) as evidenced in generic films like "Eurotrip" and that one Cheech and Chong movie (which one? I forget.)
I make no claim to be an unbiased writer. Read the SG Newswire charter: generally speaking this is biased news, and I'm not apologizing for that. However, in this situation, and in this article, there is no agenda other than to report a story to our readers, and I believe that's what I did. If you think that contextualizing this story somehow takes away from it, well, you're entitled to your opinion. But the word conservative has more than one meaning, and how you choose to read my statement is up to you.

Why did you need to take a completely irrelevant jab at America for this story?
Because that's what all the cool kids do. Didn't you know that every news story in existence shows how Conservative America sucks? Sheesh....
Err...if either one of you would read the thread, you'd see that he was talking about America being sexually conservative compared to the Netherlands. Conservative doesn't always mean "politically conservative." It wasn't a shot at America. Read for context, not for outrage.

Actually most Dutch people think this way about Amsterdam...
IMO they aren't entirely wrong either. It's just that here the attitude towards it all is very different from most of the rest of the world (America is merely the most widely used and media prevalent example). In a lot of other countries the whole drugs/prostitution thing is an evil that needs to be fought, here it's just an accepted part of society. Not nessicarily liked, but generally accepted. For the most part... no one really gives a shit.
