Above the Law DVD review
By Daniel Robert Epstein

All I can say is thank god for The Transporter. It is a strange thing to say but I suppose the granddaddy of the whole deal is Luc Besson. Besson produced and wrote The Transporter specifically for one of the masters of the martial arts movies, Corey Yuen. Previously best known for some of the best American style martial arts Yuen now has full fledged Hollywood career going with the upcoming DOA: Dead or Alive. So as his star gets blown sky high all of his previous titles start rolling out on special edition style DVDs. One of the best of them was recently released and that's 1986's Above the Law. Above the Law has largely been ignore for not featured two of Yuen's favorite stars, Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung, but Yuen Biao delivers as a lawyer who spends his nights righting wrongs as a vigilante.

Unlike so many martial arts film DVDs Above the Law has a number of cool extras such as an Alternate Ending (worth their weight in gold) and a new interview with the original Sonya Blade, Cynthia Rothrock!

I give Above the Law an A.

I thought that this was about a Steven Seagal movie. I'm dissapointed.
