Secret Photoshop Agent and resident Fashion Icon Zoetica often has the staff at SGHQ asking, "What's Zo Wearing?" Her unique and eccentric style is a rallying call to those who suffer from mainstream malaise. Each week, she tells us how she's combined ordinary items to create her extraordinary look. Undaunted by unusual combinations, "What's Zo Wearing" is SG's answer to middle-of-the-road makeover shows.
This is my pink outfit.
As far back through the ages as I can recall, this particular shade of pink has been color non grata -- to be looked down upon and avoided in life and, especially, wardrobe. It was the color of Barbie dolls, Angelyne, and all things foreign and hostile to my dark spooky soul*.
Somewhere along the road of life I broadened my horizons, got a job here and am faced with this very shade every day. It is now the color of Manko's eye-shadow and Sawa's hair. It also resembles a variety of other pleasant things, such as candy or raspberries, for instance -- associations I didn't think of before. Funny how that works, mm? MMM?
So, In recent days I've had to ever so slightly soften my views on pink. Just enough to wear this K Don dress, matching shoes, hair sticks and bag. While I can say with confidence that you will never ever ever see me wear a garment of solid fuchsia, this here look is adequately black to balance all that blazing color. Looks nothing like Angelyne, either.
*In case you thought I've lost my goth points -- the purse reads "Don't fall in love with me or let me fall in love. I'm just a flower from one of the fields of Spring, to be left alone". Now leave me be, mortals, I've the weight of the world to ponder.
