And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

This is part of the lords prayer that most people seem to forget.

There is little doubt that Falwell split Helll wide open the instant he died. The evidence is compelling, overwhelming, and irrefragable.

Well, I'm not necessarily going to argue with that point, but to say "it's more of a concurrence than agreement" would be the understatement of the century.

1. Falwell was a true Calvinistic Baptist when he was a young preacher in Springfield, Missouri; and sold his soul to Free-Willism (Arminianism) for lucre.

What? He sold his soul to Armenia? I didn't know they had that kind of money. In other news, "Free-Willism" is my favorite new word since "truthiness."

"Free-Willism"? Really? With "irrefragable" staring you right in the face?

Hahaha yeah, I just loooove refragging me some evidence. If you know what I mean.

I really, really hope I'm not the only one who hears "Free-Willism" and wants to add a few more syllables to it, to make it go with my mental image of a bunch of people worshipping a killer whale with a bent dorsal fin.

Actually, in my head a "Free-Willism" is an orgasm induced by watching Bruce Willis in the upcoming Live Free or Die Hard. ooo aaa

...this family is ridiculous. If you go to YouTube and search for God Hates Fags, there is this hour long documentary about the WBC made in Britain. It's really, really interesting.

Thanks for that info. I just watched it. Wow. It's amazing what fear (in this case, fear of going to hell) can reduce people to. Another thing I found amazing was how generally ignorant they were of the bible, the entire Bible (Old and New Testaments). The bible is a contradictory, hypocritical book that was written by mere men, not handed down from a god. And as the documentary maker said, if you limit your focus, you can find anything in there in critique human behavior. I don't reject the bible entirely because it is the basis for a large part of western moral behavior but I don't worship mindlessly as these people do. It's just sick and pathetic.

As I like to say, Jesus was a teacher first before anything else. Also a hippie (also true, but that just pisses Christians off).

It's amazing there are more hateful people out there than Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.

Why isn't Bush sending in troops to destroy these enemies of freedom? We need to fight them here so they don't distract us over there. Not sure if I'm kidding, the situation is just that fucked up. skull surreal

You guys know that probably isn't a real website, right?

I found this similar site a while ago and if you read closely it has a disclaimer at the bottom about how it shouldn't be viewed by anyone under 18.

It's kind of sad that these fake, hateful "Christian" websites can pass as genuine. frown

Landover is very fake. Westboro is, sadly, very real.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought The Lord's Prayer was just a Catholic thing.

Landover is parodying the real thing. Simply because one parady exists doesn't negate the authenticity of what they parody.

Yup, you're right. It appears in both Matthew and Luke.

Hmmm. In a way, Catholics have kind of almost "appropriated" it as a Catholic prayer. But as you just saw, it's origins are older than that.

I guess it's similar to the way that Catholics take communion at every church service (at least that's what I heard), whereas at Baptist churches they only take it every few months or so.

I guess some people feel that if it's done all the time, it loses some of its meaning.

I was raised in a Fundamentalist Baptist church and we used the Lord's Prayer all the time, although the King James Version

forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors

rather than the Vulgate

forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us

We also ended each service with the Doxology.

And yeah, we only did Communion monthly. And we didn't use Holy Water.

Y'know how they make Holy Water?
