I'm lost
February 2007

If you can get through a day without your face melting from all the negative and "offensive" shit you encounter on a daily basis, I'm sure you'll be able just to let this one pass.
It's a fucking movie. Get a life.

I doubt it will live up to the gold standard of bad army movies.

How can it with no Pauly Shore or Andy Dick?

I can think of worse things to get upset about. I do, however, find all you meta-offensive people more than a little irritating....

WTF was offensive about it? The only think I could possibly see offensive is that it kinda makes fun of the military, but I'm sure most people here don't find that offensive.

If that was offensive, you have very delicate sensibilities and probably shouldn't be on this site.

I didn't find that offensive in the least. People on this site must be more easily offensive than I thought. whatever

I thought it was more making fun of Americans than just the military. Most things that make fun of Americans is okay by me. Because of this thread, I'm going to go see it in the theater and I'm bringing people with me. I might even go see it twice.

Yeah, I've been in the US Navy for 16 and a half years (they always have a good deal on Skittles and JOLT at the Exchange) but I have to say that the only completely accurate movie I've ever seen about my job is "Hot Shots."

That said, if you don't like the trailer, don't see the fuckin' movie. I don't plan on it.

I wouldn't spend money or time to see that. But, Danny "Machete" Trejo is in it. Can't all suck. Plus, a couple of those non-PC jokes were funny. You know they were.

haha, Bill Engvall fucking rocks (I met him one time, he was a really really cool guy). I bet soldiers in Iraq (or wherever) will love this shit. I hardly think it's offensive.

If anyone should be offended it should be the Nat'l Guard we send to the border to be shot at by drug dealers and sent running.

Maybe it's not a great time for this kind of movie. But really, the movie is so retarded, and is going to do so badly, who cares?

As for the second trailer posted - I THINK that the guy who's being xenophobic/racist is supposed to represent the side of the "terrorists". I'd have to see it. If it's the other way around, then that's terrible. But I don't think it is.

Whatever you do, don't mention the war, right?
Bush has been making a joke of the war for the last 5 years, its hardly likely Hollywood would hold back.

The really offensive thing about this trailer is that the film clearly isn't at all funny.

I wonder how long it took Larry to get into his character.

Hot Shots was amazing.

My friend has Pauly Shore's cell phone number. He is not supposed to. It's funny.

I heard something about this. This is the remake of Rear Window. The original was pretty fucking good, maybe this will end up being awesome.

Meh, seems very tongue in cheek with a title like that and reminds me a bit of Arlington Road.

Well, the thing with that movie is that in the end it's ultimately about the paranoid american neighbor guy being the bad guy and a commentary on fear and prejudice in general in modern America. It's just... if they'd revealed that in the trailer, it'd kinda ruin the movie.

i would watch that movie. simply because i wanna see if the american guy was wrong and ended up killing an innocent citizen due to going all paranoid.

hum, that'd be interesting.

sorry, i'm just a flick fan, for real. and there are movies about so many other serious issues... if people got offended every time, they should just stop making movies in general. where's all the fun?
