Frank Zappa will always be remembered but his little sister Patrice is doing her part to make sure of that. While she did write plenty of stuff in the book, the most amazing things are the pictures that are included. Candid shots of Frank with his family. I flipped out when I found out Frank died. It's truly a must have for someone who wants to discover the real Frank.
oh no no no no no oh wow i don't even know what to say. i remember when i first listened to a frank zappa album. i had just turned 18 and it was my 1st apartment with a lease... our fuse blew and it was those really old kinds that you needed the little bulb thingy to change it. well the box holding the spares was empty. it was the weekend which meant no landlord. i ran to the neighbor's house at like 1:30 in the morning to see if they could help. and boy did they the girl living there opened the door and the sounds of "don't eat the yellow snow" and the smell of what i later found out was opium came wafting out hitting me square in the face. i walked in an pretty much never left for that whole summer.
i can't believe that he's gone...this hurts my heart very deeply. i never met him but in a weird/sappy way; listening to his music it just seemed like you did.
I was a very little kid when i heard Frank Zappa for the first time. "dont you eat that yellow snow" and "i am the slime on the radio" have always been songs that my dad would turn the volume up for. It was horribe to hear he died. Listening to his music always makes me remember my childhood and the realatinship my dad and i use to have. LUV YA FRANK!!!!
Dear Patrice me and my whole family are the biggest fans of your brother and we miss him so. I just wanted to say I named bird (a blue front amazon parrot) Zappa in memory of your brother and he will never be forgotten by us and in the hearts of millions of fans forever.
Frank has been my musical idol for about 20 years. the depth, quality and variety of his work is unparalleled. he is still in my opinion underrated and misunderstood. but i know that somewhere, he wouldn't care. i think about him every day in some way, and i can't wait to read patrice's book.
