Imagine you have a young child -- let's say in kindergarten -- who comes home from eating paste one day, visibly shaken, and tells you that a "weird man" has been showing up at school lately and playing "scary songs" on his guitar for kids. Any parent would assume that some perv is trolling the playground. Red-fucking-alert, right?

Well, in the case of one Calabasas, California kindergarten class, the weird old man scaring the shit out of snot-nosed munchkins just happened to be freewheelin' folk legend Bob Dylan, who has been visiting the class on occasion to hang with his grandson.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "The kids have been coming home and telling their parents about the weird man who keeps coming to class to sing scary songs on his guitar."

"He’s been visiting the school just for fun, but the kids don’t appreciate they are in the presence of a musical legend. They just think of him as the weird guitar guy."

Tangled up in Jew
I have no idea what this page is about ( besides Bob being Jewish of course) but I do find the title very funny.

Bob Dylan saves lives, and writes music that inspires almost every musical artist since 1960 and on. But George Bush, Captain Planet and Ronald McDonald are childhood heros, so kids are fucked up enough, following some scary people. They'd pick John Wayne Gacey or Michael Jackson for a playmate over say, Buddha, Jesus or fuckin' Arlo Guthrie.

Lets round up Joan Biaz, Bob Dylan, and Cat Stevens and give them all a hard time. whatever I was going to put the Dixie Chicks in there, but definnitly not the same level.

Dylan is one of the most important singers and song writters for a cause. I agree with
Scoodleboop 100%.

I met Dylan once when I used to follow the Grateful Dead around, he even scared me.

What in the world are you guys talking about? The bit about Dylan being a perv was a joke. Nobody is actually accusing him of anything. confused

Is that photochopped or is Bobby poking fun at Britney?

And this is funny as all get-out.

He did do Mister Froggie Went A-Courtin' on a children's album once, along with Paul McCartney and others.

*grabs guitar and starts singing: "Ah, but I was so much older then; I'm younger than that no-o-o-ow!"*

Either that or it's the worst Dylan/Tom Petty/Bryan Ferry morph known to mankind.

no, that pic is for real. It's from the Sundance film festival, i'm not sure about the year though.

Dylan is a weird guitar guy who just happens to be a legend. I was well beyond Kindergarten befor I knew that (and he was a legend even then, just less weird). Hell, forget the kids, I bet most the teachers don't know who he is.

I'm trying to imagine the now Dylan singing for kindergartners. He has gone quite raspy in these later years. And look at his lyrics... they are quite scary

Reminds me of how our arts teacher played freejazz records to us in 5th grade. We thought she was weird and some definitely hated her for it. But the experience has stayed with me and today, I'm pretty sure, I own some of those records she played for us.
