Maybe he just doesn't want to give diplomas to stupid teachers.

Yea, 'cause fuckin' damn, that's an important and relevant piece of information - it really changes things.

A lot of people seem to think that having pictures of you doing perfectly legal things on the internet are perfectly reasonable explanations for not receiving a degree.

I, personally, take offense to that - what difference does it make if I drink on the weekends if I'm a good teacher? It is legal for me to drink alcohol. It is legal for me to post pictures of myself on the internet. I think "moral" clauses are bullshit and often so vague that they can't possibly be legally binding.

Suggest she remove it, if you think it'll prevent her from getting a job - but don't refuse a degree that she earned because you don't like the idea of a 25 year old drinking a beer out of a cheap, plastic cup.

I'm going to be a teacher... I suppose something like this could happen to me, but it shouldn't. My off campus behavior does not affect my students in any way, and I don't drink much, anyway. It's ridiculous to hold teachers to a "higher moral standard" than "normal people."

I bet if it were a man in the same picture, nothing would have happened, but that's a whole other argument.

That's because, as the stronger sex, men can handle their alcohol better. Plus, it's a proven fact that women turn into filthy whores who will let you do all manner of disgusting sexual things, from Hot Karls to Cleveland Steamers, to them when they get drunk, on top of just letting you fuck their brains out.

It's a basic fact that anyone with a third grade education would have noted. That you did not bears significantly on the validity of your opinion. Put more concisely for those of you with comprehension problems: that you missed it means either you're stupid or not paying attention and either way your snide comment is readily and validly dismissed.

I'd still like to know when drinking legally makes you ineligible for a job or degree.

Lets close down all the bars, not have any after(work) hours social functions and by God never blow off steam or dress foolishly.

Just keep it all inside, push it down, deny any urge and see how that works out.

And they've turned old prohibition era speak easy's into tourist or historic places as well that now serve legal alcohol.

I should add she was drinking "alleged" alcohol.

Now you got me all riled up!

The beginning of the end for Detroit came from a police raid on an after hours club in Detroit (and partly due to being a black blind pig raided by mostly white police) followed by riots, killings arrests and many building being looted destroyed, set on fire all because people wanted to drink at 3 am, in private.

So, because I don't trust the AP (since they often leave out the little details), I went in search of more information.

Stories are never as simple as they seem:

The local paper has more information. And some follow-up.

I wrote my take on the whole thing in my own journal.

Basically, she directed her high school students to her MySpace page (containing the picture), even after her superiors warned her to stop. Not only that, but in her apology, she pretty much said it was her fault and she would deal with the consequences.

That written statement, alone, pretty much ruins her chances of winning. Sad, but true.

She can have my teaching credential if she wants one. I'm so fed up with the goddamn public education system, I'm thinking of chucking it all in to become a roofer. More money, less hassle, and you don't have to answer to administrators who only exist to drop their pants and spread their cheeks for the local board of education, none of whom have fucked with the lights on since the Nixon administration, if ever.

I have 2. One is SG and private, one is for a school related gig and neither are connected to my address used on my resume.

I actually just googled my professional address and nothing came up. Sweet!
