Be an alcohol snob! What's your favorite elitist intoxicant..

I've also been partial to a Black Label Australian Shiraz myself.. a Rosemount perhaps..

knob creek or
crown royal whiskey

the only wine i can drink anymore is and older (early 90's) Italian barolo. nothing else compares.

however if i'm borke or i ran out of the above mentioned liquors above i would easily settle for a twelve pack of ice cold coors light. nothing like weak american lager.

Islay single malts as a whole ;-). Specially laphroigs, older Bowmores and Lagavulin.

A few speyside malts add variety when I feel like it for diversity.

Oh, and nothing beats Zubrowka to get wasted, except maybe cask strength laphroig.

Beer = Guinness
Liquor = Dalwhinnie Single Malt Scotch

And let us not foget mead, not that cheap ass white wine with honey added, I mean real honest to Maeve fermented honey.

I drive to another state once every couple weeks to buy my alcohol in a super snobby, 'expert'-run shop. Lately I've been really into this single barrel 15 year scotch. When that's not available, Glenlivet 25 year will do. And don't get me started on the bordeaux. I sometimes spend more in a month on bordeaux than I do on my rent.

I generally favour single malt whisky (Balvenie Single Barrel, Laphroig, Ardbeg, etc).
I drink Stella Artois for lager preferrence but also have bottles of the 1995 vintage of both 'Pavillon Rouge de Chateau Margaux' and 'Carruades de Lafite' (the second wines of Chateau Margaux and Chateau Lafite-Rothschild respectively) waiting to mature to near alcoholic perfection in 5(ish) years time.

So, WaTed, when are you going to invite me over for dinner?
I'll bring some Krug to get us started, and some Yquem to finish with.
I'm also partial to Dogfish Head Midas Touch if you're talking beer, and Noah's Mill bourbon.

Hell, now I've got myself thinking...
The Peerless bottlings of Bruichladdich (36 yr) and Macallan (35 yr) are pretty reputable, too.

On the beery end of things, I'm partial to Stella Artois, when I can find it. Unfortunately, the name fails the pronunciation test--I can't ask for more if I can't say the name--and so I can't use it to get drunk. Guinness, on the other hand, passes with flying colours. biggrin

As for liquor, I'm currently addicted to--don't laugh, now--Bonny Doon Framboise. Give me a heavy chocolate souffle to go with that, and I'll do anything. Listening, ladies? love
