I'm starting to get a pretty irritated at all the pirate references that I've been seeing since Pirates of the Caribbean came out. I've been a HUGE pirate fan for as long as I can remember, an obsession I share with my girlfriend, whom I met at a pirate themed party a few years ago. I've had to suffer the injustice of "skull and crossbones" parifenalia becoming cool, or rapetastic if you will, and proliferating at such horrible places as hottopic, and watching in despair as little 14 year old girls brandish the skull and sabers jolly roger on their persons without so much as a thought or nod to Captain John "Calico Jack" Rackham, who flew that terrible flag as he sacked and plundered. Why, chances are that if you walked up to said girl and told her she looked a modern-day Mary Reade, she'd kick you in the shins. When I heard that Disney was making a pirates of the Caribbean movie I was thrilled, while at the same time dismayed. I knew that if the movie was good then people would flock to piracy and embrace it like an old friend, my old friend. I know that there are others of my breed out there, other old salts and true believers. I do not doubt your devotion, in fact, I raise my drink to you. This is just the sad, lonely rant of a sea dog who's been left in port to watch his only love sail to the horizon and leave him in his cups. I guess I’ll just have to weather the storm and wait until the fad subsides.

“For I’ve spent all me tin on a lassie drinkin gin, and far across the western oceans I must waaaaaander…” blackeyed Yar.

I should get a picture of my flag up. Skull and crossed sabers is nice, but that belonds to someone else. I believe in making my own flag with my own standard. Breajs up hte monotony and lets unsuspecting merchantment know they're in for a whole nother kind of trouble.

Obviously, our schools are not teaching kids the three arrrs! More pirate education, dammit! Or we'll hang ye dogs from th' yardarm! Arrr! ARRR!!!

Nice reference! Clever, original, and with just a hint of curry. Well done.
