Congratulations, BTW, but really its more of a hassle than anything. Unless its a DOD contract or youre a convicted felon private, background checks rarely turn up much of anything beyond your credit history and even the spooky government jobs while thorough aren't really that concerned with anything that can't be used to compromise you. I was actually interviewed for one of those jobs as a reference for a friend. They were very thorough, I was completely candid and they still got the job. My CBC a few years ago didn't even turn up my conviction (bullshit job, but I did have access to millions of dollars worth of art.)
I've had two background checks, piss in a cup while some one stares at my dick at least twice a year, and have had a polygraph and all in all it's not that bad. Just frustrating. I guess your check is over now, but for anyone else getting one, I would just say be careful who you reference as a personal contact. Don't put any friends who might think it's funny to tell the investigating agency a bunch of BS.
