what has happened to rock shows?

i went and saw Ministry in Seattle last night...... the only thing weaker than the show were the $5 glasses of ice they were trying to pass off as whiskey sours. the opening band only played for 15 minutes, less time than they spent setting up their gear. it must really suck to try as hard as they did and get no response from the crowd, then have to stop as soon as people are getting into it. the next band started doing this "rock the vote" shit that just pissed me off. i went to see a rock show, not to be told how i should feel, or how i should vote. through out Ministry's set everybody pretty much just stood there. i heard people yelling for songs that had already been played. bands used to talk to the crowd, and try to get them worked up. hell, all three bands just played their music and walked off the stage, not even so much as,"good night, Seattle." rock shows used to fucking ROCK! it seems like every show i go to gets more and more disappointing. the last good show i saw was Iron Maiden in 2000. what the hell has happened?

i was supposed to go to that show on saturday in hollywood. ill be on my way to ohio during it now but i guess it's a lil bit of a consolation if it wasn't any good.
