It reminds me of the times one of my older brothers would take me out for ice cream.

He would always invite me to go to the store with him or such and such. I thought it was great because my big brother didn't mind being seen with me, his dumbass baby brother.

I like it, I do feel the sad and warmness at the same time too. I know they aren't well off, but the big guy is taking care of the little one. I like the way they're off to the side a bit too.

i know this sounds fucked up, but the first thing i thought of when i saw that kid was "got milk?" (honest! im not trying to be cute) i fucking hate how marketing can seep itself into our daily life to where we make associations like that. puke

It definately brings up thoughts of family as well as class struggle and even the effects of time, I think I would really like to see it in black and white, you could switch it over in photoshop and see what I mean. i relly think it would enhance the image and the connection between you and the older boy. smile

it is a sad photo, but i do feel the warmth in it. they are both looking in the direction of the space used in the photo. it's almost like there's a sense of hope. whereas if they were both looking in the opposite direction, it would be a very cold, and lonely photograph.

nice work.

they look like they're waiting for the bus. What's so fucking sad about that? Someone should take a picture of me sometime... now THAT'S pathetic.

i can understand why some would not see the sadness (i don't see it as a dominantly sad photo anyway). i'll describe what i see later, so that my description doesn't add a bias.

I didn't see the sad either.

Maybe I'm unobservant.

Yeah, I don't get the sad aspect at all... I mean, two kids, maybe related (maybe not) eating yogurt and waiting on a bus? (or just killing time). It's a nice shot, but sad I don't get...

First, I want to say this photo is beautiful the way it is and I wouldn't alter it one bit. I would diffently agree it has both a sad yet warm feeling to it but that is what makes it so moving. The sadness mostly seems to stem from young adult male's face in which basically leaves me with the thought of what exactly is he thinking about. He is looking away but doesn't seem to capture him distracted by something off in the distance but more in deep concentration with a tad of doubt about one thing or another. The rest of the photo has a very happy tone to it from the child's face to the colors. It all fits very complimentary of one another. With all that its still very hard to escape the sad feeling of photo in which it really gives it this 'down but pulling through' over all mood and that is really what I got from the first sight as well as everytime I look at it.

If you have anymore photos you would like to share I would love to see them.

by the way, h00l, i didn't mention before...it's a very well-done photo. the colors, the framing, great stuff. i always get really embarrassed if i try to take pictures of people that i don't know. but obviously they can come out so awesome, i should get over that.
