This is where I ranted about the lack of love for brown people on the site. This was before I was an SG, and while I was still a teenager with not much life experience, who took things way too personaly.

i did not mention skin color once in my profile. but of course i'm to goofy to notice such a thing. i never base opinions on appearances. cause lets face it if anyone here was to run into me inperson at first glance one would assume that i am your "typical clean cut suburban white guy" but in fact i have a consevartive appearacne becuase tattoos and piercing or anything deemed fadish is frowned upon and severly discouraged by my employer. secondly i'm not true white i'm a 50/50 blend my mom is white my dad is native. not to seem like i'm picking a fight, but thats what your thread sounds like your trying to do. unless your just venting then that is ok. since tact and sarcasm are thing i have trouble with online. if i offend you it was not my point and i already forgot what my point was damn ADD. well i hope you have a lovely nightwink

i think it's interesting that you noticed members putting liking pasty girls in their profiles while the lovely miss nala gets like 200 comments per set.

First -
Welcome!

I get what you're saying.
Playing the devil's advocate here for a sec:
People are being honest, in as far as the individual preferring a pale girl over, say, a deeply tanned model-type. I don't think it really has anything to do with caucasian Vs. not.
Perhaps you're reading more into it than was intended?

brookelynne. . .i agree. i don't see many Asian Americans. At least the media is making an attemp to include Asians in commercials, movies or shows, but they're still stereotyped. It's hard to find many Asian girls on this site even. It's nice to see variety on the site when it comes along. It was cool seeing Michiko today.

Being half Asian and half Caucasian I identify with people like me too. I'd love to see Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Indians, or Iranians on this site and others. Margaret Cho is like my hero.

I've never been more or less attracted to a girl based on skin color. Cute girls are cute. period.

But they do at least have to have skin. That's all I ask. Otherwise it's all messy like inside-out boy.

all kinds of thoughts have been provoked by this thread...

i find myself somewhat torn by the whole perception that people have of me here. whenever i meet someone from the site, they're pretty surprised to find out that i'm not white. is it because i don't have a profile picture of my squinty-eyed self? perhaps i don't project my ethnic identity anywhere in my journals or posts. or maybe its because i write so much like a white dude (just foolin!). one thing for certain, the reaction is never like, "ewww, he's not one of us, i'm going to stop talking to him" or whateverthefuck. i'm always happy to have made new friends here.

dont be mad at me, I'm not trying to pick a fight, quite the contrary actually. I have noticed nala -dont get me wrong. I think shes great. Trillian too.

i also wanted to mention that Ilike what you wrote in your journal,
"ever feel like you dont fit in anywhere and yet you dont really mind?"

that is very strong of you.

not all of us are like that ok...me being one of them.

no, sweetie, i'm not mad at you, i was just saying that even if members write that they like pale girls in their journals they're kidding themselves, because it's obviously not the case. biggrin

i do agree with Stiles that they are most likely referring to liking girls that are naturally pale because they refuse to give in to the unnatural tanning bed type look that is so prevalent in the mainstream. (can we say britney spears? puke )
personally, i would love to see more variety in the girls (both race and body type) but as spooky has said before they can't make different types of girls apply.

about my journal...sometimes i just get fed up you know. i observe a lot of people who are so fucking insecure that they are afraid to even voice their opinion for fear of being rejected by their peers. (you don't have to worry about that, because check you out! you started this thread!)
i was just saying that i am uncomfortable with trying to fit a mold of what someone else thinks i should be.

kiss LiLA.

p.s. i just checked your profile and you are gorgeous! you seriously better apply to be an sg, or else! love

well I've certainly never been excludedhere, I mean no one has come up to me or anything, it was what I read.
Actually talking to people has been really cool, cuz everyone that does talk to me seeems refreahingly open minded and unjudgmental...perhaps I shold have clarified? but I do agree, it does make one feel moderately uncomforable when people are surprised to learn your skin colr or ethnicity, like it makes one iota of a fucking difference besides asthetics, and if that all someone is concerned with....fuck em... kiss

I think the reference to "pasty girls" is more of a preference for girls who don't see much sun. I'm cool with all skin tones, but I'm not partial to "baked" biggrin

I'm one of those the "exotic is erotic" kind of guys.
I've seen women from every race and many, many different ethnicities that I find attractive.

This is the reason that I'm often more likely to stare at the "foreign" (please excuse this term if you find it offensive) looking woman when faced with many beautiful women to look at. This does not at all mean I exclude more "common-looking" beautiful women from my physical interest, and certainly not from my overall amorous interest.

No doubt, though, that the fact that one of my biggest crushes happens to be a friend of mine who is part Caucasian, Chinese, and Mexican has increased my interest in women whose appearances stray from the more common white, European-based women that I see all the time. She is so stunningly beautiful in such a unique way it blows my mind.

What pisses me off is when I say something like, "I find Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Indian women to be very attractive." and someone has to fire back an allegation of some political/racist motivation behind my attraction toward such women. mad

While it may indeed be that there is some socio-political/racially-based stereotyping behind a lot of inter-racial attraction, please do not assume that this is so for everyone.

I also loathe the opinion that "Oh, you just really like the way they look because you think foreign chicks are easier." mad Now that's just fucked up, and I'm sure you're all intelligent enough to know why.

Some people like dark hair, some people like lighter hair. Some people like blue or brown eyes. Racial/ethnic physical characteristics can be found to be attractive based on pure aesthetic reasons, more sinister reasons that have to do with racial stereotyping, or a combination of both. But because there is the possiblity for racial stereotyping to be behind an inter-racial attraction, does not mean it is fair to assume so.

I read a great book for my Japanese Society and Culture class that discussed the racial-gender stereotyping behind some of the inter-racial attraction between Japanese women and white men. It's an eye-opener for sure, but no reason to assume all such attractions are based in racism.

Great topic for a thread, by the way. It's so much more complicated than people might think.

pale girl = gothy girl (I think)

Let it be known. I prefer women with dark hair, dark eyes, and dark skin. It is well known amongst my people. Even though, I am a white boy.

Although I do not exclude blondes either. I even asked a girl out that looked like Barbie recently. But I don't know to many girls right now.

I always had kind of the opposite thing going on here since it's kind of a podunk area here...small town middle america.

Quite a lot of the girls of mixed ethnic backrounds and colors here were always hesitant about a date with me because I was a white boy. So close minded thinking sucks no matter what direction it's going in.

I really hope we have some more deversity on the site sooner than later.

PS I love Nala biggrin

My last girlfriend was latina, and hot as hell, I loved her and her skin to bits, still do actually. I can't wait to see her become a suicidegirl one of these days. I loved that skin, but I do prefer pasty, but hey, I'm a goth, thats what I do.

but its not like those people listed tinted skin as a turn off. I haven't seen any threads about small breasted women complaining about how people are turned on by big ones. ( I love tiny titties myself however ).
People are entitled to like what they want.

I feel little pangs in my heart whenever a girl tells me she loves black men and think they're beautiful, but I just have to live with it. Africans have the sexiest noses, especially between the eyebrows where it starts.

I love a good vitamin D defiency though and I'm not afraid to admit it.
My god do Nala and Elektra have delicous skin though,
I dream about skin that beautiful. love

If a particular skin color gets em hot, it gets em hot, and that is what that field is for. It is their profile, and their ballgame. I cannot understand how or why that would be offensive. whatever

there was a big thread about this on another message board. it is interesting to consider whether your preference for white girls is social conditioning, racism, or just personal choice. i certainly had to examine what i found attractive at base when this issue came up, and i think the people that are brushing it off should give themselves the chance for a bit of heavy introspection, it's amazing what you can turn up inside the cavities of your brain. nothing wrong with a little spring cleaning.

if what you like is skin that's attractive to you, why not just put "skin?" limiting your choices of partners is somewhat....well....sad, really. to me. ok.

Some people say they prefer tall skinny girls, which I am not. frown Yeah, it kinda sucks when you don't fit someone's 'preference', but that's the way things go sometimes. It doesn't mean they don't find you attractive too.

Ya know,...to each his own....or her own. confused
