I know who Sanjaya is because he makes front page news every single week. I totally disagree that he is suffering any mockery. It's definitely a positive thing that I am not the only person who has no idea what ANY of the contestant's names are. But we know Sanjaya.
If he doesn't win, he'll be the last kicked off b/c ratings and interest in the show are peaking because of him. If he's really a plant for ratings, well, well... "Sanjaya" translates to "victory." Foreshadowing?
Finally! I love that someone is on the show who upsets all of the judges. They deserve it!

I suggest "America's Worst Pop Star" wherein only the worst get through. The one who has the confidence to go through and win despite being completely talentless should get a record deal because, let's face it, nothing sells like a novelty album.
Though I don't think the contestents should be told about the new concept of the show.
didn't they do this? i remember seeing it on TV - it might not have been FOX, but i swear someone did a show like that.

I feel bad for that kid. He knows no one wants him on the show, and he still gets pushed forward. All the terrible things people are saying about him are probably killing his self-esteem. Normally, I'm all for public humiliation and whatnot, but I just feel bad for him for some reason.
I'm starting to feel sorry for him as well..
I just think that this is vicious.
he probally has no idea of his suckness, and assumes the nay-sayer majority are just 'haters'.
it's what works for ashlee simpson
Exactly! And Fall Out Boy.....and Justin Timberlake....and every other mediocre talent in the business. And look at all the cash and poon they're getting. Viva Art!

+1
This is ridiculous. No, he isnt very good, and no, its not fair that others are getting voted off, but is it his fault? Of course not.
If I were him I swear I would vote myself off right now. The further he gets, the more people will hate him, and winning american idol does not = big success.
