Lennon was a jackass. To bad he didn't follow the same kind of path as Bob Dylan. I'm not a Dylan fan, but at least he knew how to carry himself.

I'd like to have had the chance to punch Lennon in the mouth.

Dylan could barely carry himself, the guy fried himself stupid so he couldn't be a jackass or an upright citizen.

Seriously, watch Don't Look Back.

Um, what an odd thing to say about someone who managed to escape several eras in which many around him were lost to drugs but somehow managed to sidestep the daemons of addiction and go on to still produce chart-topping albums and still demonstrates a never-wavering steel-trap memory. And his radio gig as DJ on XM Satellite radio is good stuff. Even for non-Dylan fans, as he doesn't play his own stuff.

I hope when I'm in my 60s I can have a fraction of his mental status.

And I have no idea who Matisse is, I'm sure Hef doesn't either, he probably didn't even pick it out, one of his thousands of girlfriends probably thought it was pretty or something.

What, because you're ignorant and stupid, Hefner is too?

Somehow I"m not buying that.

I love art, and though I'm a bit of an artist (mediocre at best), I coulnt consider myself an art expert, but I wouldn't have to be either to have learned at least the name of Matisse in grade school art class.

Oh, quite on the contrary. I have a lot of art classes under my belt, the snobbishness within which I found so posh and non-cerebral that has bolstered my total lack of appreciation for the "Old Masters," as it were. Value isn't fixed as it once was, in this day and age. A Matisse is worth about as much to me as a damp cheeseburger wrapper on a hot summer afternoon, without any cheese on the paper.

That's right, about 5 cents with shipping.

Just because I don't give a shit about "art" doesn't make me ignorant and stupid. Do you know who Stuart Sutcliff is? Or Astrid Kircher? Sorry my interests don't span over onto your perception of art. My art is music. That's what I know. Don't attack me because I know John Lennon's work and don't know who some artist is. Famous or not. I'm sure when Hef was growing up in Chicago he studied Matisse. Sure you're an expert on all aspects of art. Must be nice to know it all!

He also introduced John Lennon to drugs. And he produced Jakob which brought us the Wallflowers. He can't be all that great.

No.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Stuart Sutcliffe-with-an-e is one of the various contenders for the "fifth Beatle" title.

Or Astrid Kircher?

Again, no.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Astrid Kircherr, however, was the lady he shacked up with.

Sorry my interests don't span over onto your perception of art. My art is music.

Whoa. Ignorant, stupid, and pretentious. The holy trinity!

So is mine. I play music. I don't paint. I'm still not so ignorant as to not know who Matisse is, and I'm still not so stupid as to make ridiculously unsupported comments about Hefner's knowledge of the arts.

Don't attack me because I know John Lennon's work and don't know who some artist is.

That's not why I attacked you. I attacked you because you're not only ignorant but you made some rather stupid remarks firmly grounded in your ignorance.

Ddn't you get the memo? Today is International Drop The Last Letter of All Surnames Day. John Lenno used to celebrate the holiday by burning Matiss paintings at Hugh Hefne's place. Bob Dyla, however, remaining respectfully aloof, declines to comment on the incident.

I missed that. It was a painting of ashtrays????

It's clever, but still not right.

And now I truly wonder if he knew what he was doing. He may have actually believed it was an ashtray in which he was stubbing his butt.

+1
Also, with all your snobbish art classes I guess they didn't infrom you that Matisse isn't one of the "Old Masters". Maybe you should have paid more attention before deciding you have no appreciation for them.

Actually, don't elaborate. And the rest of you, don't encourage him.
