Continuing with the recent wave of mall-punk scumbaggery, former Mest frontman Anthony Lovato, 26, was arrested on suspicion of murder in Los Angeles last Sunday. Lovato is the "prime suspect" in the fatal stabbing of 25-year-old Wayne Hughes who was killed in an underground parking garage in a Studio City apartment building.
According to police reports, Lovato called 911 himself after stabbing Hughes during a heated altercation, claiming that Hughes had assaulted him first. Lovato was immediately arrested and charged with criminal homicide.
Police were also called to the building Saturday night to investigate a previous fight between the two men, but no arrests were made. Evidently the fights stemmed from both Hughes and Lovato being romantically involved with a woman who lives in the building, despite the fact that she dated the two men at different times. Any superfans with a pile of money should be aware that the singer's bail has been set at $1 million.
Hmm..maybe I'm just a young'un, but a band that started in '96 is hardly 'new' - and they're definitely nowhere near emo. They're just lame.
And murderers.
I thought the same thing, but when I googled him and this guy was the first 6 links, I didn't feel so bad. how punk could they be if this guy was in the band?

Why was he walking around innocently carrying a knife?
That sounds a little suspect.
I know absolutely nothing about the guy, the band, or the murder, but I carry a pocket knife sometimes. Is that another southern thing? I mean, I don't carry it to stab hobos or skin roadkill, but it comes in pretty handy because everything you buy now is wrapped in superplastic.

um Tonys' actually one of my friends... so stop talking shit.
Oh, well then.
No... its just, this is all Ive been hearing lately... and its sad that shit happens, but honestly do people have to rag on his career (which has nothing to do with this murder) to justify actions?

no, you're right, the fact that he was in a shitty band doesn't really have anything to do with the fact that he allegedly killed someone.

the fact that he was in a shitty band is the only reason this story even made the news. such is the price of fame
True. We had to hear the media go on and on about O.J.'s football career all during his trial which clearly had nothing to do with savagely slaughtering two people.
I think relations between a career and career criminal are important when you stand in front of the camera with Kon Cred its gives your image a shade of charactr . so now when he flashes his institution badge it can read...

awe wow. met Tony a few times.. He was a nice guy. and when i did go to see there shows they did a fine job the money well spent. and honestly I think they where one of the bands i could always count on being nice to there Fans at the warped tours and Shows and gave the fucking time of day.. and none of the less smoked a joint with me.... It was about 4 or 5 years ago and i was 14 or 15 so it meant the world to me to have a band be so nice and say i was cute.....
but still, sucks that his allegedly convicted of murder.
hope everything gets cleared up real soon.
