Hello all-
I'm writing an article on media coverage of type one and type two diabetes. If you could, please message me with the answers to this questionaire, along with your name, age, and diabetic status.
1. Do you believe the focus on type II diabetes has pushed type one (juvenile onset) concerns to the background? Why or why not? Do you feel this way from personal experience?
2. As a physician, do you routinely test your patients for diabetes?
3. As a parent, do you believe that your child cannot obtain diabetes if they maintain an active lifestyle and are within the normal weight range for their age?
4. 4. Do you believe that diabetes can be "cured" by exercise and dieting? Why or why not? How were you exposed to the idea?
5. As a diabetic how do you feel about magazines that purport to "cure" diabetes? Do you believe this opinion is widespread?
6. What are some of the reactions you have encountered when telling people that you have diabetes?
7. Are you're a type one (juvenile onset) or type two (adult onset) diabetic? When were you diagnosed? What type of medication do you use?
8. Do you have any family members who are diabetic?
9. Do you allow your physician to test your child for diabetes?
10. Have you ever had yourself tested for diabetes? (If not, why not).
11. Do you know how many types of diabetes exist?
12. What is the first thing you think about someone after they tell you that they have diabetes?
