this is the kind of thing that makes me nervous. i dont think i currently have anything to worry about, nothing that would be considered "improper" by an employer... but that is the #1 reason that i am still just debating sending in a set to sg. it is something i want, and believe in... but i dont think it is well understood enough by the general public, and i dont want to risk my future career... damn internet! haha
I don't believe there's anything in the public record to tie an SG's alias to their real name, (unless of course they put it there), but I expect the staff or an SG would know for sure.
On the other hand, can't you just see someone running up to their boss saying "OMG YOUL NEVAR BELEIVE TEH PIX OF LINZY I JUST SAW ON TEH INTERNETS!!!"

Googled my name and got 34,700 results.
Only one relates to me.
That would be the post I made in a forum specifically relating to my job, which lists all my previous work experience, qualifactions and, if you're a member, my contact details (which are now very much out of date anyway).
i didnt even think about checking the results.... 647,000 ....damn, i only know about 3-5 that are really about me. those other guys with my name are busy.

I am invisible on the net, as a bunch of far more famous people also have my name. But goddamn people, have you no shame? Don't air your business in publicly accessible parts of the internet.
My job has checked potential hires' Myspace pages, and on several occasions, NOT hired people (and I believe, even fired one) because of the content. These were cases of people showing an extreme lack of brainpower: without going into too much detail, it was akin to posting pics of yourself wearing nothing but your uniform shirt.
A little common sense goes a long way in any networking site.
