Fair enough. Most of the 'proud Irish'-Americans I've met seem obsessed with Guinness and Dropkick Murphys songs and know very little about any aspect of Irish history, from the Easter Rising to the IRA to James Connolly to Sinn Fein, etc.



That, I would buy. Which correlates well with my theory that "most people" = "assholes". People that claim pride in their Irish (or any other ancestral) heritage are no exception.
