Ross Halfin is one of the world's greatest photographers. He's taken photos of musicians and celebrities from 50 Cent to Billy Bob Thornton. He loves travel photography, petrified forests and Japanese food. He speaks about his daily activities with an acerbic wit. You can read his daily diary on his website. Yeah, been there and it's difficult to get where you want to go without sounding like an idiot - which I usually do. You kept your head and turned in an interesting interview - I didn't skip a word, which says a lot!
awesome interview Garrett! I didn't know this guy's work before, and now I want to - just cuz he is such a neat mixture of 'uncommonly real', intimidating and very no-holds barred.
yaaaaay!!!
More interviews please honey
Ross Halfin may be one of the world's most prolific rock photographers, but that does not make him great. He's not even close to being one of the greatest. He may qualify for the greatest ego, greatest little man complex, or greatest prick, but certainly not greatest photographer. Try Martin Parr, Bill Owens, Andreas Gursky, Mary Ellen Mark, Andre Kertesz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward Steichen, etc...
wow...intriguing. the more I read, the more I felt like calling this guy over for a serious slumber party. I'd wanna pick his brain all night. wonderful interview. I'm enthralled, to say the least.
blah... i guess i don't like him since he insulted the whole italian Gods Of Metal crowd calling them earth's filthiest and sweatiest, and since in this interview he keeps saying how boring it is to take pics of live shows.
