A tearful Kelly Osbourne shocked audience members at a London HIV/AIDS benefit last night when she announced that one of her family members had recently tested positive for HIV. The charity event drama went down at Camden's Koko club where the 22-year-old singer/reality star broke the tragic news before introducing a performance by the band Scissor Sisters.

Refusing to specify which relative she was referring to, Osbourne said only that the diagnosis had made the cause close to her heart.

Kelly was seen sobbing as she exited the stage. The rest of the Osbourne clan has yet to make an official statement.

I'm going straight pessimist here, I'm guessing it's the normal one that refused to be on the show. That would make a sort of karmic sense in a totally fucked up and backwards way.

It's probably nobody we know. That family is a lot bigger than just the four people who were on the show. Probably not something she should've divulged either.

Sad yes, but really, in the 21st century, how does this happen?

We all know about sharing needles and un-protected sex - don't share and use condoms.

Condoms aren't 100% effective.

Not to mention that even educated people engage in risky behavior in moments of passion. Also people with mental issues like deppression, mania, or addiction are also more likely to enter into risk taking behavior

exactly.
everyone knows about it, but lots of people think "it won't happen to me."
it's shocking how many people who seem otherwise intelligent are out having tons of unprotected sex with total strangers.

Firstly, is that her in the pic at the top of this page? Damn!! She looks great! Secondly, it's never a good idea to withhold info in this manner. People will always speculate the worst case scenario. Like if you look slightly old but refuse to tell your age, people will think you're like 79 when you're really only 36. Anyway, I think it's no one in the immediate family.

Wow, I never knew that wiping out the AIDS epidemic was so simple.

There are many ways to get AIDS without partaking in risky/ irresponsible behavior. Educate yourself before you open your mouth and offend a lot of intelligent and responsible people who are in the very unfortunate position of having HIV or AIDS... or have loved ones who are.

While it is sad and tragic, it does not necessarily mean the end for whomever this is. Especially in a family who can afford the type of treatment reserved only for the wealthy. Which may be more sad than the news itself.
