JPG Magazine, a magazine, website and community centered around imagemaking without attitude, is collaborating with SuicideGirls to offer a contest called "Beauty Redefined."
Every generation redefines what is beautiful, but ours has taken it to a whole new level. This theme invites you to throw out traditional notions of beauty and start over from scratch, redefining beauty for yourself.
This theme is sponsored by SuicideGirls. If your submission is selected for publication in this theme, you'll get $100 to spend in the SG Shop plus the usual $100 and 1 year subscription to JPG. Cool, huh?
Submissions should contain people, but no kids. JPG is okay with artful nudes, but please keep it professional. Anything overtly pornographic will be removed.
The JPG "Beauty Redefined" theme is open for submissions now, and will be included in JPG Magazine issue 10. Submissions will be open until April 4, and voting continues until April 11. The community will vote up their favorites, and the final selections are made by the editors.
JPG Mag is about mostly unmodified photos. That means they do not accept photos that have been overly Photoshopped. Adjustments to color and sharpness are just fine, of course. Just keep it real, baby.
Oh man, I should probably just forget about this and move on with my life. I just recently had to pick six photos for a photo contest from my collection of over 6000, and it was a time-consuming ordeal.
Funny they have that 'no kids' stipulation; they seem to get all the votes in photo contests.
Hi! This is Derek from JPG. I just wanted to mention that we also have a coupon for the SG community. If you'd like to subscribe to JPG for $10 off, use the code "SuicideGirls" or just go to this URL:
Hey, thanks for the coupon code Derek. I've been sending in photos to JPG for a few months now, and I appreciate being able to afford the subscription. I'll have to think about whether I'm going to enter this contest or not. I'm such a novice, and every time I sign onto the site and browse the submissions, I'm really blown away by some of the talent I see there.
