Ok...I gotta admit, when I first saw the trailer for Ghost Rider a few months ago...I got really excited! The special effects looked cool & Nicolaus Cage always does a pretty good acting job.
But Last night I took my girlfriend to see Ghost Rider & needless to say...I should have known better!
Just like Spiderman, the movie wanted to focus on the man behind the superhero. It was moderately successful at that. The relationship between Johnny Blaze and his Long lost love was interesting. But unlike Spiderman, the "superhero" himself was Extremely CHEESEY!!
The flaming skull looked like throwback CGI & his voice was ridiculous! His main power was STARRING YOU IN THE EYE...OOOOOOHH!!! But to the movie's credit, The bad guys were pretty cool. Nevertheless, I'm still gonna have to Give GHOSTRIDER 2 THUMBS DOWN. It wasn't as bad as the HULK movie....but it was pretty close.

What did you think?
Ghost Rider's Penance Stare was pretty much his ultimate power in the comic. Being a vengeance demon, it was his job to punish sins. And what better way to punish sins than to have them reflected back at you?
Nick Cage is fucking terrible in everything, but Johnny Blaze was such a two-dimensional, boring character that he had nothing to work with anyway. He had a few random, meaningless quirks, but he was still just dull.
I went into this movie expecting a total abomination and I walked out pleasantly surprised. While it was by no means a quality film, it wasn't anywhere near as terrible as I was expecting.

Good Point...If I went to see it with Low Expectations than I guess it would have been a pleasant surprise. So from that perspective, I'll say it was "Bad" but not "Terrible". Good observation Star
Sad thing is... I really enjoyed it.
It was so schlocky and bad... almost like 'Van Helsing' was for me.
I left amused and entertained, but not screaming "BEST. MOVIE. EVER!"
It's worth at least one watch, that much is for sure.
